They generally are much better too...in terms or writing and acting and directing and the list goes on and on...especially BBC tv shows. Dont watch korean/taiwanese because they have the same concept as QH and IPK with female degradation.

She does what sells.

We're all here aren't we?

We all watch QH don't we?

Sometimes I hate myself then I become too fickle because i'm bored and like how the leads look.

Alas a vicious cycle.

Who's going to break it?

Returning to the issue at hand...I echo both RC's and Jayne's sentiments. That, yes, most of us viewers take the story scene by scene and we practice selective amnesia because we want to get entertained by the good stuff shown and pretend like the bad stuff didn't happen. I know I do. It's not a case of the bad stuff becoming acceptable, for the most of us viewers. On the other hand, I fully agree to the idea that there is a subconscious effect on viewing such things repeatedly...it becomes acceptable and we don't even realize it. And most susceptible to this are young impressionable minds who haven't seen much else in life or on TV, who don't have much else to compare this behavior to.

Jo,

It was simply a question for a philosophical discussion.
Think of this thread as think tank!

Also these are just words bit/h sl*t etc. On the internet we just say it without meaning it so there that too.

People speaking without knowing the implications.

Asad/Zoya, it's fine to judge them. But I think it's better to reserve judgement on real people.

Rocker,

I know of many girls and women who speak in such a manner of women or girls they do not like. Some whom I know as an acquaintance.
Bitch, Wh*re, C**t, etc. are some of the milder epithets I have heard applied.
Mind you, many of these are to actresses or actors whom they've never met!
Reading and believing - 'I know someone who's best friends with the doorkeeper of that actor/actresses building, and it's all true! He/She is a sl*t' - is said with such relish that I am always put off.

I don't know, I always try to think if I were in that situation would I want someone to talk like that about me?
So...I try not to gossip.
Even on public-forums.
Coz what one thinks comes out one's mouth at the most inappropriate times!

your right because it sells thats why she makes this stuff. But I wont be able to watch this for long. I had to quit IPK too...I simply could not look at Arnav anymore without a sneer on my face (not good when your hero starts to disgust audiences).
I started because of KSG and stuck because of him too, but at a point even he wont be able to keep me glued to this show. At that point, I would rather just watch reruns of Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai (which I do) and do cardio for an hour even with a hip stain (which I have right now and am in a lot of pain). I am quickly reaching that point rockerchic.
P.S. Where did you come up with such an amazing ID? I am very uncreative so I can never come up with anything besides my name 😆

I think we are giving girls of today much less credit than they deserve. We can't judge them solely on the basis of what is written on the forum and even on the forum I haven't seen anybody defending, for example, the slap because Asad is a guy and he has the right to tame his woman.

I mean, at least when I look around I don't see too many meek allah miya ki gaays in real life. I do see some but not enough to make me worry that they are outnumbering like-minded ladies of previous generations.

Now I will go watch the kachori scene

I watched 4lions show Geet,and it wasn't like that.
Geet had more power over Maan, and in the beginning he was rude to her.But later on he treated Geet beautifully.
It was Geet most of the time who misunderstood Maan.
And I feel QH is more like Geet than IPK.
After sometime we will witness really sweet scenes in between the leads :)
IPK was "Nafrat pass ane na de,mohabbat door jane na de" :)
No wonder Arnav was rude to Khushi till the very end.

I think she said for the first 12 years of her life or so she was outside India.

As to her married life...makes me wonder if her heroes are modeled after her real life love/marriage story.

I wonder what her love story must have been like to warrant such tv shows.

I abandoned all my British TV shows for my Indian one. It looks like someone really needs to have a word or two with this gul Khan she writes this show like a man who is still living in the dark ages would write it in fact i actually thought it was a man who was writing the script. With IPK all the fans had the writers tight within our grip it was either they do what we all wanted or face low TRP like the whole shetal storyline it did not last more than three weeks which is unusual since these sort of storyline last for months. I have noticed that we qubool hai fans just go along with everything we dont complain about storylines we dont have the writers in our grip because we dont threaten them with low TRP. They needs to understand that most of their viewer are teenager girls and young women who have yet to experience life. I remember with the slap scene it did not affect me at all i saw it on youtube and did not was any time in going to watch the episode that Asad slapped Zoya. I think by the end of the episode most of us have forgotten about the slap and then the Teri Meri dance came and we all 100% forgot about the slap and that we thought it was romantic when he was hesitating to put his hand on her shoulder. I actually forgot about the slap till today. Gul Khan needs to do something about her show because it is affecting us all it is telling us women that its okay to be insulted and slapped my men what happened to girl power and us sticking together.
( Don't bash me this is purely my opinion which i am entitled to)

Apparently she bases her characters on Mills and Boon characters, that's what she says.

I love complex characters, they're interesting.
But there's a difference between someone having a dark background, seriousness, anger, pain, intensity and passion, and someone also being cruel.
The first kind finds it difficult to trust and open up, but the second type along with all this stuff, intentionally hurts others, and unfortunately Asad falls into the latter.
Plus, I'm sorry If I offend anyone with this comment, I think he lacks the charm Arnav had. When Arnav wasn't around Khushi, he was lovable, he did good things, and he was a suave businessman. Asad however only ever seems to feel sorry for himself, and as of late, run after Tanveer. I mean what else does the guy do?😕
I liked his character to begin with, but it's not looking great anymore.

Even after the slap I was willing to give Asad a chance.
I put myself in his shoes and thought If I blamed someone for putting my mum or dad on their deathbed then maybe in a fit of pain and anger I might do what he did, although I doubt it. But I could kind of understand his feelings. He thought he was going to lose the person he loved most in this world, and he blamed Zoya for it. But it still wasn't easy digesting that slap.

But my mind changed after he made comments about how Zoya doesn't deserve a family.
He didn't say it in a fit of anger or pain. He meant it. He has said it more than once.
It was a thought out thing, not a heat of the moment thing. What gives him the right to decide who does and doesn't deserve a family? Who made him God?

If he's such a good God-abiding individual, who is so mature and kind, so he thinks in comparison to Zoya, how can he even think such horrible thoughts?

Call me stupid or whatever, but I'd be much more likely to forgive a man if he hurt me physically once, than a man who believes I deserve no love, and repeats these sentiments more than once. The second man would be wishing ill for me and great unhappiness. But once again Asad falls into both categories.

100% agree with you and i think Gul Khan is mistaken saying she bases her characters on Mills and Boon because MB characters are nothing like Asad in all the MB books i have ever read not one of them ever slapped a woman. Asad's character keeps changing for the worst. Mental Abuse is worst that physical and i know this because i am constantly criticized which lead to me suffering from Depression and also thinking the worst about myself and once you get in a depressed state is not easy to come out of. Now am wondering what is Asad's character going turn out to me will he come out alright or come out as a monster.

I have no faith that he will change because so many times he has wrongly accused zoya and each time he has been proven wrong. Him saying she does not deserve a family is completely unacceptable. The girl barley remembers her mothers face and does not even know if her dad is alive or dead and he know all this yet he still says she does not deserve a family i never thought Asad will Stoop so low am so disappointed in his character KSG should do something as his character being portrayed like this instead of being quiet.

The worst thing of this is that is changing the way we are thinking many of us who watch the show are teenagers. This shows needs to start showing that violence is wrong. And in my opinion only a coward would behave in this way with a woman. If someone said to me that i don't deserve a family i wont spare them they will see the worst of me. And am also dissapointed that zoya has lost her backbone she has been turned into a abused damsel in distress
