For those who have, and yes, I personally know of many, this is just what happens in life...men abuse women, and women cry, but then forgive and get on with living with that same d*bag.
This is because she 'loves' him or imagines he 'loves' her.

Very few women are brave enough to step away from such a situation or even think that they can do so.

And to be honest, reviewing the level of postings on this forum, these are the 'accepting' lot.

I know the people who found the slap romantic on this very forum. And i questioned them many times and had many arguments with them.

But faced with a real life situation, I think people will react differently. I want to believe that.

I don't disagree that women do accept domestic abuse. I think that's an Indian cultural problem.

So it's just i don't want to judge someone based on what they randomly post on the internet because they find KSG/Sobti hot.

Nisha,

In your example, I would say a wrong has been corrected...the acceptance was there for centuries because of psychology, and the ever forward march of time has slowly, but surely, reversed it.
The very same way, the belief in earth being flat, or the center of the universe, has been overturned.
Psychology works both ways...in suppressing something right and promoting something evil, or vice versa.

Psychology wears many hats.
Including that of religion.

There is nothing wrong with homosexuality.

Period.

Let's not have that discussion here.

And @TM that was a poor example.

On that you have agreement.
Many are rather juvenile... in posting, if not in age.

All online social-media does is remove that filter between thought and speech that exists in real life.
Most would not dare say to someone they did not like that they wish they could murder them, or they were a wh*re, a sl*t, etc.

But I also think if such thought processes do exist, they need to be seriously examined, since they are terribly judgmental and usually all for the negative.
One ought to do as one might want in return.

Nisha: Manhandling in romance is unacceptable. Homosexuality is unacceptable.

Jojo: Manhandling in romance is unacceptable. Homosexuality is acceptable.

Mojo (random girl): Manhandling in romance is acceptable. Homosexuality is acceptable.

Momo (another random girl): Manhandling in romance is acceptable. Homosexuality is unacceptable.

Each of these 4 people have different opinions and they are happy with it. So if a girl finds it acceptable to be manhandled by her man and her happiness index does not diminish because of it...what is wrong with it? Are these rules/truths/ideas universal? Who decides right and wrong, anyway? What are the parameters? Why? How?

When did I say homosexuality was unacceptable? Gay rights all the way!!!!

We are not just talking of manhandling. If you read my original topic...I did not mention manhandling anywhere. I spoke of the insult meted out by Asad. If a girl likes being insulted then great maybe she is into BDSM which hey...I dont mind, thats her business.
But Zoya is clearly affected by how Asad treats her. She cries but then has an selective amnesia episode and forgets about it the next day.
We are talking about respect for women, which I would hope is a universal concept. I dont know how anyone can justify that women should not be respected.
I feel like I live in a different world sometimes because here where I live in my uni...men hold the doors for women...just today I was asked by a guy if I wanted the empty seat on the bus even though his friend was sitting right next to the empty seat and he must have wanted to sit beside her so he could talk to her. I declined because I could tell he wanted to speak to her. My point is men actually show respect here. When I go to India...its very different. guys whistle at you and such things.
Maybe its my mentality and the mentality of where I live that women should be respected...

I completely 100% agree with you nisha and Jayn. If i was a guest in a house of a man just like Asad i would not tolerate the insults being hurled at me i would have left ASAP and would never have any sort of communication with that person ever again if i see them on the street i would simply walk by them without even saying hello. With IPK and now QH you can tell that the production house is run by men who are clearly living in the dark ages.

We as viewers keep justifying Asad's unacceptable behavior as a man in love. When he slapped her and when he insults her so cruelly the sad thing is that not one of us viewers think anything bad about it we are all the concerned with the roman and eye candy that we are forgetting that this is Physical and mental abuse. Did any one of us stop and say to ourselves "Hang on this is wrong". No we all just ignored it.

Because of Nisha and Jayn i have just opened by eyes i wonder why have i been blinded for so long that i ignored what ever Asad did becasue all i cared about was spending all day on Youtube watching Asad and Zoya romantic scenes.

What the production house are doing is wrong this is just like them justifying women being slapped and being mentally tortured. I was so brainwashed that i almost through that Asad was a saint and how lucky would i been to have a man like him in my life. But now thinking about it a man who would insult me everyday and slap me when he is extremely angry.

Like Arnav we all saw how love changed him completely but with Asad i have no hope.

Whatever good opinion i had about him are now gone he is no better than a wife - beater

( Don't bash me these are purely my opinion which i am entitled to)

But we're (as in society) are already thinking it as you said. It's just in the internet we're saying it aloud because it's anonymous.

Also these are just words bit/h sl*t etc. On the internet we just say it without meaning it so there that too.

People speaking without knowing the implications.

Asad/Zoya, it's fine to judge them. But I think it's better to reserve judgement on real people.

I dont think you guys understood my example. 🤔
I never placed any moral judgements about homosexuality. I was merely saying that because of social media...it has become more and more acceptable in the eyes of the American people. I never claimed if it was right or wrong.
Personally, I am very liberal so it goes along with being liberal that I want gay men and women to have equal rights.
Just clarifying because I dont want people to think I think its immoral, since that would be a big slap on my face.

On that basis:

01: Father raping daughter is unacceptable. Father beating children is unacceptable.

02. Father raping daughter us unacceptable. Father beating children is acceptable.

03. Father raping daughter us acceptable. Father beating children is acceptable.

04. Father raping daughter us acceptable. Father beating children is unacceptable.

With differing viewpoints, who decides what is right or wrong?

It always takes a collective to make societal change.
Women's suffragette movement was successful after decades because of the collective power.

The collective power begins with one.

The (wo)man in the mirror.
You.
