Chapter 2
Kaira's phone rings. But she is just staring at the number. She cuts the phone. No one notices this incident except a dark figure behind the curtains...
(In the hall, morning- 9 a.m.)
Anuj: Adi, Rubel have you both taken 10 days leave from the office?
Rubel: Yes Dad. But this honeymoon decision was taken so hastily...there are two important meetings this week...who will attend those?😕
A voice from behind says: No need to worry. I will attend the meetings on your behalf.😊
Everyone turns and is surprised to see Rohit standing there.😲
(Sorry guys..I introduced Rohit here. Thought of adding a bit spice to the story..😃)
Adi: Arre Rohit! Tum yahan? Kaise? Tum toh Chandigarh mein the!😕
(Here let me tell you..Rohit has had no affair with Payal. He has been a childhood friend of Payal and had joined Diwan group of companies 6 months ago. His father being a friend of Anuj has helped him to win the faith of Diwan family. Except Pankhuri, no one suspects him...)
Rohit: Ha Adi..I had gone there..but the meetings were cancelled so I came back...Arre Sheila Aunty! Kaisi hai aap?(bends down to touch her feet)
Sheila: Buss buss beta..main theek hun..aur tum kaise ho? Tumhari biwi kaisi hai? Woh toh 5 months pregnant hai na?
Rohit: Ha Sheila aunty she is fine..(tries to avoid further talking about his wife) Arre Pankhuri, Payal, Adi , Rubel tum log kahin ja rahe ho kya?
Rubel: Ya we are going to...
Pankhuri(cuts in between): Woh tumhe janne ki zarurat nahi hai. You are our business friend..so remain that. Don't try to be too sweet towards our family.😳
Sheila is angry with the way Pankhu is behaving with Rohit. Adi senses some trouble and says: Arre ! Dekho kitna time ho gaya! We'll have to leave now! Pankhu, payal don't you guys have to shop?
Payal: Ya definitely! Come on pankhu lets go..😊
(Adi, Rubel, Pankhu and Payal leave)
Rohit stays for some time in DM and asks for leave.
Anuj: Bohut accha laga itne din baad tumse milke..please come here more frequently!
Rohit: Ha ha uncle! Ab toh ana jana hotai rahega..😈
Outside the gates of DM Rohit types a message on his mobile "Paya, ruyal going somewhere. Till now dunno where..will soon find out"
After 2 secs, a reply comes "Find out FAST! Or you know what will happen."
Rohit is visibly tensed. Hires an auto and leaves.
Just then a black car that was waiting outside DM starts and leaves. Kaira sees the black car.
28th Feb, time - 10 pm
Paya's room:
P: Ho! So FINALLY I am ready for the trip.
A: Yeah..FINALLY!(grins😃)
P: Adi, aapko bohut maza aa raha hai na...aaj jab shopping mall mein main woh kapde try kar rahi thi aur sab log hass rahe the, aap sirf khade khade tamasha dekh rahe the...aap duniya ke sabse bure husband hain,..huh!
A(laughs his childish laugh😛): No meri butterfly patni..koi tere upar nahi hass raha tha..you are just imagining things!! Aur koi hasega kyun? Tu ekdam dashing lag rahi thi!
P: Achha chodiye...aapka packing ho gaya?
A: Ha ji ho gaya! Hum ladko ko thodei na tum ladkiyo ki tarah itna time lagta hai!😉
P: Aap kabhi nahi sudhrenge...😛
(Goes to close the windows and notices two black shadows outside DM gate..wonders who they can be..Closes the windows.)
A: Achha pankhu, tujhe Rohit kaisa lagta hai? Aj mujhe aisa kyun laga ki tujhe woh pasand nahi..?😕
P: Pata nahi Adi..I am feeling really uncomfortable..I sense something's really wrong.
They are silent for a moment. But then Adi suddenly shouts: "COCKROACH!!"
P(scared to death): Ouch! Where??!!😲
(She jumps and thus falls on the bed just above Adi.😆)
P: Adi..kahan hai cockroach?
A: Yahan..tu jiske upar giri hai..(grins😃)
P(smiles): Adi..😳
Adi rolls back so that he is over pankhu.😳 He removes the hair from pankhu's face and caresses it.😳 Pankhu closes her eyes as Adi slowly lowers his face over pankhu's. Pankhu shivers as Adi's lips meet hers. They share a long kiss. ☺️Finally Pankhu breaks the kiss saying: Adi..it's already late..we have to get up tomorrow early in the moning.😳 Let's go to sleep.😊
A: Ok. (He picks pankhu up in his arms and takes her to her favourite side of the bed. He then puts the blanket over her.) Good night.
P: Good night.
(A figure outside the DM gates watches the lights in DM go off...)
