Is Komal justified?

In the past few days, Komal has placed a shocking new demand before Arushi and Tanmay (sorry I don't know their combined name, is it Tanshi? 😕)... Anyway, Komal demanded that the couple contributes towards half of the family's expenditures.

While thinking about this, I found that I could not make a decision as to who was right. Komal was justified in her demands as Arushi and Tanmay are both living in the house since the last four years, and as far as I know, they are paying basically just the rent of living in the house. Is it not their responsibility to pay for their complete living expenses? However, Tanmay doesn't earn as much as Adarsh does, and so probably cannot afford to pay half the expenses.

What do you all think? Is Komal right to make such a demand from Tanmay? Is it also Arushi and Tanmay's responsibilty to pay for Dadi and Prof's expenses? Or should they just be paying for themselves?

Is it only the son's responsibility to bear all the expenses? And just because she is the daughter of the household, is Arushi (and therefore Tanmay) excused from it? Even if she has been living there for years, and plans to continue living there for years to come? How much should she be contibuting?

I'd like your opinion on this... because even I am unable to make my mind.

(On a side note, could someone tell me how Adarsh was allowed to go back to Dubai after the whole fiasco Komal created earlier how she would not live alone in India while Adarsh was abroad? How did Sajjan Singh allow it?)

In my personal view her demand is appropriate only when Tanmay earns a $$$... currently it seems that they are hand to mouth, until arushi suggested she wanna go 2 work...

I think its not wrong for Komal to demand for hse expenses... but Komal should take into consideration how much Tanmay is earning as well... is he is earning well n not contributing much then there is a room for such a move.. but in MKAP its totally different here...

What i fail to understand that why after 4 years GAP tanmay n arushi still living there... does TANMAY earns very low... he was in college b4... did he actually complete his studies for him to get a good job... there are scenes shown Tanmay in office, seems like a good job with good pay... office job... but i wonder WHY?????

And i personally feel that komal is feeling lonely when looking at Tanmay+Arushi together... she wants adarsh back... just my pov... she has hinted some times in scenes where Adarsh is not like that, like this... However it is i think shes missing adarsh badly...

or may she is thinking to ask adarsh to leave the job once tanmay starting to bear 1/2 of the expenses... mayb...

A very common scenerio at joint families esp with a lady like Kml,,and Kml does exist more often a Pratigya.

Kml is not entirely wrong asking to share the expenses but insisting on t rude n in an unsulting manner when she knows that Tanmay is not earning well is very very bad...it will break the family.

Arushi n Tanmay dont seem to be living in extra luxury...they have adapted themselves to lead a simpe life...smitmes adjusting to Kml's taunts too.

Had arushi n Tanmay been shwoing spending a lot of money for themselves likfe picnics..luxurious life..then Komal demand is absolutely understandable and quite jsut too.

Now what Komal is doing is ..she is putting money above family...worse is that she knows everything..T's earnings...Saxes' submissiveness...etc.

It could be that Komal is resenting the fact that Arushi and Tanmay seem to have a happy life while she is alone with her daughter. But then again, WHY did she let Adarsh leave if she wanted to be with him? Also, if Adarsh has such a "great" job, then why is he not calling his wife and daughter to stay with him? It does seem though as if Arushi and Tanmay are living hand-to-mouth. Still, Tanmay did not seem very happy when Arushi mentioned that she wanted to started working. Do you think the next issue in their lives would be that Arushi gets a better job than Tanmay and he resents her for earnign more than him?
