Jodha was surprised..She wanted to know that Why DEK was called all of a sudden..

Jalal could easily read her questioning eyes and said - Jodha Begum..aap bas taiyyar ho jaiye..Hum dono thodi der mei Diwaan-e-Khaas ke liye nikalenge..

Jodha could somewhere guess the reason.. She was scared again.. She protested - Iski koi zarurat nahi hai Shahenshah.. Hum nahi jayenge..

Jalal with stern tone - Jodha Begum aap abhi taiyar ho rahi hain aur humare saath chalengi..Hum kuch aur sun na nahi chahte..

Jodha knew he was adamant and that he would not give up.. She left everything on Kanha..and got up to get ready for DEK..

Part 10 -

Jodha went inside to get ready for the Diwaan-e-Khaas as Jalal waited out in the room.

Jalal who was faintly smiling after having the meal with Jodha, grew dead serious now. He knew what he was doing to do but he feared its effect on Jodha.
"Shahenshah..Rehne dijiye..Humein kisi se koi shikwa nahi hai.." recalled Jalal.. How could he take the step of punishing anyone, forget who the culprit was in this case, when the victim (here his wife) herself didn't want to take any action.

He more than knew of why she didn't have any grudge for anyone. The turmoil she had been through because of him was the sole reason of her present condition.
He paced up here and there, waiting for her to come out.. He still pondered over how would she react..

After sometime, Jodha came out all dressed up in a simple green dress and minimal of jewelry..She looked weak but her divinity always stood out.

Jalal looked at her with a smiling face and Jodha returned a faint smile.

Jalal - Chaliye Jodha Begum!

Jodha came to him and said in one go - I very well know Shahenshah of why you have called DEK..But I would just like to advise you that, please don't take any decision in haste..
Please do not insult anyone in the court unless you have talked to the accused once in private.. Thats all I would like to say.. (and she again gave him a smile, giving assurance that she is not upset with him)...

Jodha started walking out of the room whereas Jalal stood there still, thinking about what she had just said. He knew what she meant.. He knew she was trying to say that It feels so embarrassing and
shocking when you are directly alleged and insulted in front of all, even when you are unaware of the cause of the same.. He felt so vulnerable..

But he also knew, that his Badi-ammi did not deserve any private talk for sorting out things..She had been playing dirty politics all the while and He had to expose her in front of all..He was determined!

Jalal too started walking and stopped Jodha, who was some steps ahead of him..

Jalal - Rukiye Jodha Begum.. Humare saath chaliye..

Jalal joined Jodha and both of them were quite now.. They started walking towards the DEK.. After reaching to the court gate, Jodha said to him something, that shocked Jalal..
A tear rolled down his eyes, and he looked at her with pain in his eyes.. She too was teary but gave a smile while crying.. She assured him that everything would be fine..
And they entered the court..

Everyone had assembled in the DEK before hand as per the order of Shahenshah. Ruqaiya Begum, Salima Begum, Hamida Bano and other ladies sat behind the curtains, all thinking about
what was the reason for calling DEK all of a sudden..Atgah Sahab, Adham Khan, Maham Anga, Benazir and everyone else in the court..all waited for Shahenshah's arrival !

Maham Anga was the most excited of all people..Her eyes were searching for Jodha Begum and she was extremely delighted after seeing her seat empty..
"So she's not allowed here..WOW!".. She giggled.. "May be She'll be called in the court when Shahenshah punishes her.."..She just could not control her excitement..

Finally the guards proclaimed - Ba Adab Ba Mulaiza Hoshiyar, Shahenshah-e-Hind Mohammad Jalalludin aur Begum Jodha padhar rahe hain..

As Jalal and Jodha entered the court, Everyone stood up to greet the couple whereas Maham stood stunned..She was numbed, her eyes widening in shock..
Jalal and Jodha returned the greetings and Jodha forwarded for her seat behind the curtains.. Jalal moved towards his throne.. His face had an angry look, one could easily make out!

Maham was shocked to her core..For a moment, She was blank. "What is Begum Jodha doing with Jalal?".."How come Jalal walked in with her?".."Is Jodha begum all free?".. A hundred questions
ran in Maham's mind.. Her forehead and palms were sweating.. "How can I be so careless? Why did I stop Resham this morning? Ya Allah! Something is definitely wrong.. blabbered Maham to herself..

Jodha went and sat beside Hamida bano and both exchanged smiles.

Hameeda - Jodha Beta ab aap kaisi hain..(She looked worried)..

Jodha looked all sorry at her - Hum bilkul thik hain AmmiJaan...Aur Humein kshama kar dijiye AmmiJaan..Shahenshah ko aapse us tarah baat nahi karni chahiye thi..

Hameeda - nahi beta koi baat nahi.. Hum jaante hain Jalal kaise hain.. Humein bura nahi laga..lekin kahin unhone aapka aur dil to nahi dukhaya na..

Jodha - Nahi AmmiJaan.. Unhe apne kiye ka ehsaas hai..aur ab humare beech sab thik hai..

Hameeda was relieved to hear this.. Before they could talk anymore, they heard Jalal's voice..

Jalal - Aap sab ko yahan achanak bulane ka bahut karan hai.. lekin isse pehle ki hum kuch kahein, hum chahte hain ki humari Khaas begum humare saath aakar yahan baithein..looking at Jodha..

While Jalal was looking at Jodha, Jodha was looking somewhere else.. She couldn't even comprehend that she was being called. After all, She could not forget how she had stood up to go and sit beside him,
but not only was she insulted when Benazir walked in and sat beside Jalal, but also she was asked to leave the DEK for no reason.. She just waited for his further words..

Jalal again said in a louder tone this time - Hum chahte hain ki Jodha Begum humare saath aakar baithein..(He could easily sense that She was hurt and confused..How publicly he had insulted her last time..
He clenched his fist at the very thought of that moment.. He had been just so senseless and rude..)

Only after hearing these words, was Jodha sure of getting up.. She looked at Ruqaiya, who in turn, gave her an assuring smile. Jodha also glared at benazir with a little furious look..

Jodha went and sat beside Jalal. Both of them looked in each others' eyes.. Before Jalal could give her any look, Jodha quickly looked away..

Jalal carried on - Jaisa ki humnein kaha ki humnein aap sabko yahan ek zaruri baat karne ke liye bulaya hai..(His voice was so furious).. Hum aap sab ko ek aise insaan ke baare mein batana chahte hain
jiske wajah se humein aur humari Begum ko najaane kya kya jhelna pada.. Jiski wajah se naa hi sirf humein beintehaan takleef hui, balki humari Begum ko bhi bahut dard pahucha..
(His voice was growing more furious by each passing second..)

Maham was blown over.. Her blood went all cold..She stood there all shivering..(Neither Jalal nor Jodha had looked at her till now.. She was hell shocked at what she had Just witnessed..)

Before Jalal could speak more about the culprit, his voice was getting glitchy..Jodha could easily notice that..She put her her hand on his and Jalal calmed down a bit..

Everyone was shocked to listen to their Shahenshah's words.. They knew there was some problem between Shahenshah and his Begum Jodha, for they themselves had witnessed Jalal
ignoring Jodha many times.. "So, Has Shahenshah sorted out things?" Most wondered..

Jalal spoke out in a quite stern tone - hum jaante hain ki ye humara niji muamla hai, isliye hum aap sab ko puri baat nahi batana chahenge.. Lekin, hum us gustakh, us kusoorwar ko zarur
sabke saamne saza dena chahenge..jiski wajah se itna kuch hua..

(Jodha smiled to her innerself..Thank god, he didn't blurt out all the mis-happenings between them in the open..)

Jalal - Bina kisi deri ke, hum aap sab ko ye batana chahte hain, ki vo gustakh aur koi nahi, (his voice which had been furious, turned teary all of a sudden)..Humari BADI AMMI hain..

Everyone was shocked.. WHat!! Maham Anga? They looked at her with immense shock.. Ruqaiya already knew that Maham was responsible..She was not shocked, but She looked at Maham
with disgust.

Maham fumbled. Her legs were not supporting her..Her mind stopped working..Her heart beats were racing with high speeds..It seemed as if all of her organs ceased to support her..

Jalal looked at Maham with furious eyes.. He could not believe, that a day would come, when He would do this..

Jalal with a sarcastic tone - Aaiye na Maham Anga..Beech darbaar mein aaiye..

Maham looked at Jalal with teary eyes and confused look.. She stammered aloud - Ye aap kya keh rahe hain Jalal.. Humnein kya kiya..aur bhari darbaar mein humari itni be-izzatti Jalal..
She started shedding Crocodile tears..

Jalal with even louder and furious tone - Humnein kaha beech mein aakar khadi ho jaiye Maham Anga..

Maham could not help but go and stand in the middle of the court, everyone staring at her with shocked eyes..

Jodha was all teary-eyed.. She constantly looked down.. She had felt the same public insult.. She didn't want to hurt anyone though..But it was her Husband who was adamant on his decision..

Jalal continued - Everyone! She is one who created rifts between me and my wife.. I will not be telling about what happened between us because of THIS lady..But She crossed all her limits..
I was more than shocked when I got to know that the culprit is this lady, whom I had trusted more than anyone..(his eyes were teary ) She stooped to such low levels, which would shock and embarrass anyone..
She smartly and dirtily played tricks between me and my wife and enjoyed the show.. I again say this, that I know its my personal affair, but THIS LADY NEEDS TO BE EXPOSED PUBLICLY!
Had not My other Khaas begum, Begum Ruqaiya, helped me to find out the truth, I would never have known about the truth, the reality..about this lady..

Everyone was getting more and more shocked.. With the anger and determination their Shahenshah spoke those words, they were more than sure, that Maham had definitely played a big game..

Jalal straight looking into Maham's eyes - How could you Maham Anga? how could you..Why? Why did you deceive me..Why did you betray my trust? (He was so furious that he got up from his throne and straight went to MA)..

He pointed his finger at her.. - YOU !! You were the one whom I trusted blindly.. You were the one whom I trusted more than anyone..Then Why? (He shouted his lungs out, tears falling from his red-eyes) WHY?
What did you get by doing all this? Answer me damn it !

Maham was frozen at her place.. She knew she was exposed.. That was the worst she had expected.. She knew She had lost.. She was SO SHOCKED from Jalal's anger and his determination,
that she knew, if she tried to play a game here too, Jalal wouldn't mind beheading her the next second.. She decided to accept her folly.. But She was more than angry on Jodha..This Begum had
once again won..

She stammered - Ja.Jalal..

Jalal - Don't you dare call me Jalal.. Get that! You have lost that right! Shahenshah! I am your Shahenshah..

Maham - Shahenshah..Humein muaf kar dijiye..Humse bahut bada Gunaah ho gaya.. (She fell at his feet..and started crying)..

Jalal backed off his feet.. He couldn't tolerate this lady anymore.. Her each and every word pierced his chest.. How proud he was of his Badi-Ammi..But today, he was ashamed of himself for
trusting someone so blindly..Why was he at all demanding an answer from her, when he knew what her intentions were..

Before She could say anything, Jalal said (clearing his throat) in a finality - Get up..You had saved my life once..I owe you that life..but what you have done today has left me all broken..I would have still
come to you to clear out things, if you would have not blurted out your feelings to me in the morning..You confirmed my doubts Maham Anga.. You have always been after Begum Jodha..
and I will never forgive you for your dirty game.. You took advantage of my weakness..You misguided me at every juncture.. You hurt My innocent Begum.. You deserve a harsh punishment for
all your wrong doings.. (he wiped off his own tears and called for guards..)

Adham Khan was shocked to his core, witnessing his mother getting exposed and punished.. His blood was boiling with anger..but at the current moment, he was helpless.. He could not help
but see the processions.. But he was determined to take the revenge at the correct time..

Jalal - Guards! Take this woman, pack her stuff up and SHE IS LEAVING FOR MECCA RIGHT NOW...

Maham dropped down on ground.. Her evil mind had totally stopped working.. Her sudden exposure left her dumbstruck.. Her reality was out in front of all..

She grabbed Jalal's feet - Jalal humein muaf kar dijiye.. Humse bahut bada gunah ho gaya hai.. par humein apne aap se alag kar ke itni badi saza mat dijiye..

Jalal shook her away and said in the loudest tone - You know what ! I would have beheaded you for the crime you have done.. You already knew the truth, yet you enjoyed my vulnerable, fragile state..
You made that woman(looking at Jodha) suffer to hell.. But My wife had asked me to respect you and not punish you...because she believes that, no matter what you have done, you still have
done many sacrifices for me in the past.. You still are elder to me..
Only because of her, I am not punishing you..But get me clear.. I will NEVER EVER forgive you in my life..Never..
Now get up and get ready to leave for Mecca right now.. You don't deserve a single moment in this palace.. GET OUT NOW!!! Even if you have little shame, go and worship to allah..!

Maham got up with her eyes lowered and moved out of the court with the guards.. Jalal looked at Jodha and thanked her from her eyes.. Jodha was all teary-eyed..

*Flash back*
Before they entered the DEK...

Jodha - Shahenshah! I know that you will be punishing your Badi-Ammi..And I also know that She's unaware of this all.. But please Shahenshah..I request you to not punish her severely..
After all, She had worked for you for so many years.. I know You will expose her and it will be really painful for you..But I request you to not discuss all our private matter in court..She'll be hurt too
when she'll come to know that you know her reality..

Jalal - but Jodha... She has hurt me and you to extremes.. How can I not punish her..

Jodha - Have you ever wondered why she did all this? Because of me..She would have not hurt you if I was not there in your life.. Shahenshah try to understand please.. I really don't have
any grudge for her.. If she wants me to be away from you, I'll be away..But She has been serving you all of her life.. you cannot punish her severely only for me..

Jalal looked at her with painful and teary eyes.. Jalal - You are important to me Jodha..Get it! And Ok! I won't punish her..But I won't leave her as well..

Jodha could only give an assuring teary smile listening to his words..
