Of imli, spices, and sweet dreams
Two almost strangers, about to be tied into a lifetime of togetherness, sit side by side, silently. But the silence is not desired, anything but. An eager friend steps in to remedy the situation and the two find themselves alone on the terrace. What follows is a study in human emotions: excitement, hesitancy, joy, fear, kinship, shyness, earnestness. He starts out by asking self-deprecatingly whether he could become the Prince of her dreams. And proceeds to tell the three most important things about himself: works in the city, has a B.Com degree, and loves spicy food ,sweets and khatti imli, with "namak alag se". That is the magic word...imli...instantly she looks up and beams at him. A kindred spirit. He asks, Chalega? She can only smile shyly, before worriedly asking... "main aapko pasand hoon?" Tells him about leaving school, and having lost her parents...yet another moment of instant connection. He confesses he is an orphan too and goes on to detail his dearest wish...to have a family of his own. A family that he will build with her...his Parvati.
