Mini Skirt issue-The real India?

I think Pakhi doesn't want to wear the mini-skirts because she is uncomfortable. It would be difficult to describe what exactly "real India" would be since its quite dispersed and divided between the village and the city. But, to a certain extent I would say that even though the village has gone and opened its minds to sports like tennis, clothing is still a different case.

I don't think the point here is about real India as I feel it doesn't matter whether you are from a city or a village people should wear what they like and if they are comfortable in a mini skirt it doesn't matter if that person is living in a big city or a town as such.

What people wear in small towns is besides the point...the point is...Paakhi is not used to wearing short dresses and that's that. She is passing no moral judgement on people who wear them...she is just saying she won't be comfortable playing in a style of clothing she is not used to wearing...she was actually very clear about that...

If I remember Saina Nehwal wasn't with the decision of govt making mini skirt more mini.
She even stated, i want to concentrate on game, I have to abide by the rules so am wearing them but if I see my pics being clicked, posted in a vulgar or wrong way by the media am going to take a troll on them.😃

Any one wants to concentrate on the game but glad they showed the brighter part on this mini skirt issue. And its obvious village people cannot adjust easily with short clothes like any other thing.😆

People who wear western clothes may feel uncomfortable in a Sari just as people who are used to wearing traditional clothes are uncomfortable in mini skirts.

Denigrating people and judging them by what they wear is what is wrong here.

Yesterday's issue definitely doesn't lie in city-village notions. Paakhi had mentioned that she has never worn that before and this is a fact , how can a ghaghra wearing girl no matter how modern she is wear a super short skirt all outta blue that too in front of a large crowd & play zealous sport like tennis.
Plus , a woman need to prepare herself before exposing 😉 😆

The real India includes both the cities and villages. And even in the cities, there are all kinds of people - there are many city-born and bred people who are not comfortable in miniskirts for whatever personal reasons.

In Pakhi's case, she refused to wear it because she has never worn one before and wouldn't feel comfortable wearing one and playing tennis all of a sudden. Different people will have different comfort levels when it comes to clothes... and Pakhi neither has looked down upon people wearing miniskirts nor did she do any moral preaching.

Paakhi was also very clear that shes not used to it, so even if she wears it she wouldn't be able to play the game properly.
theres no need to go as far as mini skirts, I belong to a large section that finds it uneasy to wear sleeveless clothes. it has nothing to do with being English speaking or living in the cities. I am both but im still not comfy. that's my choice. I like how well they are potraying the modern indian woman without unnecessary cosmetic changes.
