If you're dumb, you cant understand the depth to any character. If you're dumb, you fail to capture nuances.

In that case, Shahid aint the smarest cookie either, coz he always chooses films that flop.

So really, no need to point fingers at Kareena.

Script sense is measured by hits..Amir himself goes if no one goes to see my movie, that's the day I know am done. What's the point of picking great script but the film flops? Having a good script sense isn't just about the script..it's knowing if the audience will like the film and you know that by how well the movie is doing at the boxoffice. Why do people say Katrina has great script sense compared to Kareena? Because Katrina's films do well at the boxoffice..and that's because her films are usually entertaining. Would you say Kat's films have good scripts? No..they don't...people say she has good script sense because she knows what the audience like to watch. And that's why her films work at the boxoffice. So yes script sense can be measured by how well the actor's film does at the boxoffice. At least that's how I see it..you don't have to agree.

I had said this ages ago in some Ranbir Kapoor - Barfi related thread that why Barfi isn't a risk after all. People today are ready to see such films, the overall mindset has changed, they are ready to accept such films than they were in an earlier time. So when someone did take risks in an earlier times when people were non receptive to anything different/new that is a true risk because they weren't making niche products, they were making films with regular budgets and thus involved risks. Today even someone like John Abraham is producing and staring in Madras Cafe and people go and see it and make it a success.


Another thing that most forget here is that "risk" by its definition means the stakes should be high, I don't see how the stakes were high with something like ek hasina thi, being cyrus or even a go goa gone, they were mostly small niche films made for a very limited audience in there own comfortable space, who's going remember/talk about these films except for those limited number of people. Not every different film qualifies as a risk taking venture, it has to have a scale attached to it. In that sense Agent Vinod was a risk (it wasn't a risk actually, its just a badly made movie which people might realize after Phantom comes out, if they choose to ignore ek tha tiger).

I could bring in Abhishek and say how he has taken much bigger risks+interesting scripts+films with bigger scale than anyone else in the current bollywood sphere but hey, he's considered a non actor here (wish i could see some of the stars considered actors here do a Guru in there lifetime but..) so why waste the time.

All said and done, still if not for these two (saif and abhi) I would find bollywood boring. An aamir film comes once in a while.

I think Abhishek is a brilliant actor. He has one of the best comic timings (better than Hrithik Roshan) but unfortunately, the guy has a major disadvantage with his looks.

Plus, he has one of the best offscreen personality. Reminds me of Saifu a lot. Both have that sharp wit!
