Dilshad -
Right - An amazing mother, a beautiful human being. She's infact an older version of Zoya who never let her spirit die no matter what the situation. That smile of hers lit her path and gave her and Asad the courage to carry on.
Wrong - An emotional fool woman who could never let her heart free from the clutches of a man who time and again failed her. She's giving into an emotional blackmailing of a sort and letting the man rip her and her self-respect to pieces!
But when did love ever have a mind of its own? Besides, its said that even though the relation between a couple fail, the relation between parents can never die. And Dilshad still feels herself connected to Rashid as the father of her kids. She's torn in this conquest of her heart and her mind. And sadly with the choice she's gonna face, whichever way she chooses, she's gonna lose!
Asad -
Right - An amazing son, a caring brother and a loving husband-to-be. All his life he has taken it on himself to look after and protect the woman in his house. Became an emotional support and conservative patron so soon in life that he even forgot to live his childhood. Yet all he learnt was to give - selflessly and unconditionally. Today he's trying to shield his mother from what he sees is a yet another heartbreak. He's right to resist this preposterous change and is mature enough to understand that some mistakes can never be redeemed. Time for reconciliation have long gone and now he no longer seeks that warmth of paternal love.
Wrong - Anger and hatred. Love and Hate are two equally powerful emotions while love builds (Zoya's love is healing Asad) Hatred destroy (Hatred towards Rashid turns him destructive. Asad needs to forgive his father to be in peace with himself and stay a complete life. Yet that doesn't mean he needs to give that man a chance. Rashid doesn't deserve a chance! In the fit of his anger he's going to lay an ultimatum of choice for his mother that's going to tear her further apart.
But when your heart is broken beyond repair... can you really be blamed to be scornful at those who have destroyed you. The pain a loved one inflicts hurts hundred times more than a pain a stranger inflicts. And here the man who threw him to sharks (calamities of life and tongue - wagging society) was none other than the man who was to keep his safe. Can we blame that little child to abhor this man now? Consciously Asad wants nothing to do with his father but unconsciously there is a child within him who craves from those little missed moments of love... yet when the man returns all he wants his first wife... he doesn't want that little child again! One more attack on this little kid in the subconscious of a grown man. The broken heart bleeds once more. Can we expect him to not hiss and yelp?
Zoya -
Right - Always positive. Seeks balance and believes in not keeping any grudges. The lonely girl is highly delusional and believes all is good and if its not she'll set it right. When she loves she loves with all her heart.
Wrong - Highly immature and impulsive. Like Asad, she too has her moments of making irrelevant and unjustified comments. And while she sees pros she forgets to contemplate cons. She hardly thinks of repercussions of her action and mostly refuses to see other's point of view.
But what do you expect from an independent girl who have stayed by herself devoid of any family for the most of her life? Zoya basks in her ability to do all by herself but look closely, this independence was not by choice instead she had no option. She held tight a piece of her childhood that stood as a hope that yes there was somewhere her abu who was thoughtful to make the sound box for her and so he might also be yearning for her like she is for him. Living her life by herself, she was hardly conditioned to a familial environment. So her decisions and impulsive nature comes from the fact that she has been used to making decisions for herself and never thought much coz before this her decisions didn't really matter or affect anyone as much. No doubt she had Appi and Jeeju but its clear that though she got emotional and financial support from them they still couldn't fill that void and the girl seeks belongingness everywhere around her. So if one is happy doing something they want to... why not? She resists someone who's coming in way of that other person's happiness but at the same time fails to see what tomorrow may hold for the same person whom she's supporting - delusional as I said! She's that innocent fool who shuts her eyes to darkness and believes that wrong doesn't exist until that darkness slaps her across the face!
Life or situations can never be measured in right and wrong. Neither can these three complex characters. They all have their reasons - valid or invalid, justifiable or foolish, smart or insane - doesn't matter but they all do. In the complex web of scenarios they are all making their set of mistakes yet they are all neither completely right nor completely wrong. They are all conditioned to act they way they are to circumstances. And they are all going to be hurt in the bargain.
