22-year old final year IIT-Bombay student who aspires his career in the Class I Services of India. He wants to give his mother a lavish life which she is devoid of since the death of her husband and Rishabh's father, Mohan Kundra.

"Madhu", called out RK softly. Madhu opened her eyes. They were blood-red and swollen. Her body was freezing cold and her forehead was flushed with fever. "What happened...?", asked RK in concern. Madhu got up holding him and whispered, "I haven't had my drugs for long" and she fell unconscious on his shoulder. He wrapped her in a shawl and his mind was puzzled. The memories of the Ball Night started dancing before his eyes and he felt hand-cuffed. Madhu coughed while still lying on his shoulder and started breathing heavily.

"RK please...give me my injections! I swear I'll try to leave it from tomorrow..."

"Tomorrow never comes...you've to leave it today itself..."

"Its not a freaking habit which I can leave...it is called ADDICTION!! And its isnt easy to get over it..."

"Where there's a will there's a way... Madhu...drugs won't take you anywhere but away from the people you love..."

"I love nobody...and whomever I did, left me alone here in this sucking world..."

"Please...trust me! Drugs are not a good company to keep...!"

"RK stop lecturing me! Ok?"

"You stop begging for injections! Because you won't have them even at the cost of your life! You GET IT!"

"Stop shouting...its hurting my ears"

"Hold me...pakdo mujhe and see if you feel better..."

He clutched her cold hands. She looked at him in disaster. Her lips were dry and pale pinkish grey. He stood up and pulled her up to stand as well. "I can't...its impossible..."

"Impossible itself says I m possible!"

She looked at the optimism in him. He lifted her up by her waist and supported her till she kept her feet on top of his feet. Quickly, he tied a shawl around both of them so that Madhubala wouldn't fall even if he lost control by chance. His cheeks rubbed with hers and it gave him a shiver. She was very cold. "Hold your hands around me and grip it as tightly as you can..." Madhubala nodded and obeyed. "Now...I'll start walking softly...taking small steps and you try and lift your legs as I walk. If you're not able to...then just take a breath and push yourself a little bit" Madhubala was coughing but she obeyed.

Rishabh started taking small steps towards the kitchen. In the beginning, he had to bear her entire weight because she couldn't lift her legs...but slowly towards the end, he felt light on his feet because Madhu was starting to make effort.

The moment she kept her last step and entered the kitchen, she hugged Rishabh from around his neck in joy and whispered with whatever energy she could, "I did it...!" Rishabh caressed her hairs, "I told you!! Madhubala can do anything!!" Madhubala's eyes glowed with tears, "you really believe I can do this?" Rishabh removed a strand of hair from her eyes and said, "Of course you can!"

"Ok! Now...we will have something...alright! What do you want? Should I make some soup?"

"No...I'll gain weight!!"

"Shut this heroine nonsense! You're here as Madhu not SUPERSTAR Madhubala!"

Madhubala made an irritating face while she held Rishabh tightly. "I still want those..."

"From now on, whenever you want injections, you gotta think of something healthy to eat...and eat that instead! Samjhi??"

Rishabh untied the shawl and then lifted Madhu and made her sit on the kitchen slab like a kid. Madhu kept gazing the soup boiling in the pan and made umpteen expressions seeing the color. When the soup was ready, he sat on a high stool and fed it to her himself. She made all excuses but he was strict enough for Madhu to give in... When she had almost finished, she felt better...and she felt like sleeping. Rishabh grinned at her and then lifted her back to her bed. She dozed off soon enough. Rishabh gazed at the medicines that were mixed with the soup...as instructed by the doctor. They were safe and would help Madhubala get over her addiction for drugs and alcohol. She was holding his hands so he slept beside her on the floor...wrapping a thick blanket around him.

Next morning, when she got up...her muscles felt stronger and she felt better. Rishabh was still asleep and she was too happy at her health that she wanted to cook for herself. She got up to go but was pushed back when she found that her hand was tied to Rishabh's hand. She fumed and woke him up. He woke up innocently rubbing his eyes.

"Yeh kya hai...?"

"Hand-cuffs!"

"Ohh! I thought they are over-sized bracelets!"

"How silly of you Madhu!!"

"Rishi! Shut up and open this..."

"No...not until you've your complete breakfast!"

"How will I have it if I am tied here"

"I'll take you there! I can't risk you falling and hitting something here...now just zip up and let me freshen up..."

"Wait a minute...jab tum washroom jaoge...I won't come in with you...EWWW!! No way!!"

"What?? Are you crazy...?? Sheeehhh!! How could you even consider that Madhu? I will tie you outside here only..."

"Rishabh! I am not a COW you'll tie up!"

"You're a spoilt KITTEN!"

"Kittens aren't even tied!!"

"You're a special kitten..that's why!"

"Gaaah! Rishabh! I'll kill you someday!"

Rishabh ignored her nuisance. He got up taking her along with him and then tied the hand-cuffs to another bar while he freshened himself. She kept cribbing outside but he took absolutely no notice of her. By the time he came out, Madhu had given up and sat on the floor quietly with her cheeks puffed up with anger. He smiled at her and then removed the handcuffs. She was asked to move to the kitchen while Rishabh prepared her breakfast. She sat munching the thing while he went out to attend an important call.

Madhubala's phone rang.

"Hmm...bolo..."

It was her manager's call.

"Mam...you've your shift from 9 to 9 today...and we're shooting a dance sequence..."

"Alright...will reach there by 9"

"And Mam tomorrow we have your Vogue cover photoshoot...and the magazine interview"

"Hmm...alright! Make sure I want no interviews today whatsoever..."

"Yeah mam! I'll make sure!"

Madhubala slipped the phone on the table while she ate. Rishabh entered back the hall but he looked worried.

"What's wrong?"

"It was the Inspector..."

"Umm...so what did he say?"

"He said they find the entire thing really fishy...and they found Drugs in Dipali's blood..."

Madhu coughed the breakfast out.

"Drugs! What the hell! It can't be possible...di never had drugs! In her entire life!!"

"That's what they estimated too... So they're looking into all this...and they won't be able to hand over the body to us anytime soon!"

"I know its those FILTHY Singhania breed behind this... I know it... Dipali di had called me that night...to meet me at our Farm House to show me something... She said there's something I needed to know! But she couldn't make it... You know why... Because they KILLED her... Yes Rishabh, they killed her... I'll murder them all one by one..."

She rose with a jerk but he stopped her.

"Don't!! Let the police investigate! Truth will triumph!"

Madhu took a deep breath.

"Alright... *pausing for a minute* I have a 9 to 9 shift today...will come late..."

"That's too long for you to stay away from Home-Made Food!"

"RK...chill! There will be arrangement of lunch!"

"You're surely not having that you get it? I'll get you food at about 2:30 when I get free from classes..."

"Alright...you win..."

"Thanks!", smirked Rishabh.

"Take this with you...otherwise the security won't let you in..."

Madhubala said handing over a card which announced that he was a close acquaintance of Madhubala. Rishabh nodded and kept it in his bag. He bid her good bye and left after reminding her not to have street food at any costs.

It was in the lunch time that she met him again...at the exact time he had told her to come...she made a face when she saw boiled diluted watery daal and some dry chapatis.

"Is this my food!"

"Hmm...any problem...I don't care anyways..."

"When you can't talk to me properly...how come you're so keen on taking care of me..."

Rishabh didn't answer. She felt odd and angry at him. But she kept quiet. Her body was becoming weaker with every passing minute. She wanted a HEAVY drug overdose to regain her strength but she had already said her goodbyes to them when she left the Singhania house and came to Rishabh's place.

"I don't want to..."

She couldn't finish when Rishabh glared at her and she shut her mouth instantly. She rolled her eyes as Rishabh mixed daal with the rice and some daal was left for the chapatis. He gave her the plate but she turned her face away. Rishabh took a huge breath and fed her holding her face in position so that she wouldn't run or tilt her face away. When she had finished, he gave her a special sugar-free chocolate as a present for finishing the meal and left. Madhubala fumed but then took the chocolate.

3 months later

Madhubala had spent 3 full months without any alcohol or drugs and she felt triumphant for being able to resist the temptation for nearly half a month. Things were the same, she would go to shoots and Rishabh to his College. During lunch, he dropped by to make sure she ate the lunch he made for her. Sikki had applied for leave in Rishabh's hostel and it had been granted already. At home, Rishabh didn't speak to Madhu much more than asking her to take her lunch or dinner which had started making Madhu restless and insecure because he had been spending lots of time on phone talking to some Anjali girl for the past 10 days. They would laugh together and this made Madhu's heart burn...but she denied it completely. She tried to speak to him or make him indulge in some light conversation but he had cut himself completely from her and spent time only with his books and talking to Anjali.

There was one more development. The Inspector had seized a disc from the debris of the car. The problem was, it had been coded and locked by Deepali. They had informed Madhu to be safe because it was something more than just a mere coincidence of Dipali's accident and seizure of a disc from the car. Madhu had been called to see the disc and she had told them that she didn't recognize the disc and hadn't seen it with Dipali before. This made the Inspector's suspicion more solid and he felt he was going on the right track in the investigation procedures.

Meanwhile, Madhu's personal team had settled her things in her new home comfortably. The house was had been fenced with proper high walls and wrought iron gates with Rishabh and his mother's permission afterall. They had hired a contractor to make a nice big closet room for her things and Madhubala was paying for the necessary expenditures. Her vanity was permanently parked in the courtyard of the house and her car was covered in the porched area of the back-verandah.

She took regular morning and evening walks with Rishabh inside their compound wall but never spoke to each other much. There was a deadly silence between them. The silence was eating her. And she had finally decided to end it once and for all.

Now obviously the rehab facility for drug addicts takes a lot more time than shown in my SS and also needs proper medical help. But I've modified the entire process because above everything this is a Fiction and I've modified things according to the way it suits the SS😳

Very well written
So madhu is recovering frm her addictions wth rishab's help
N frm 3 mths she didn't touch them
Rishab is fully taking care of her but not talking properly wth her
N who is this anjali might be some frnd
