He Hates Me'

Rey: Nana! Thank so much.. Aapne itni mehnat kari.. I really hope, I wish ke hum phirse aapke saath kaam kar paye..

Nana: Tum jaise joshile naujawano ke saath main bhi kaam karna chhata hu..(gesturing towards Sharon) Lekin iss nakchadi ke saath nahi!

Sharon (attitude): Its Sharon!

Nana: Nakchadi!

Sharon (irritated): Main nahi hu woh nak.. Whatever!!

Bharat: Aare Nana iski naak na hawe main rehti hai! Issi liye kiski patti nahi isse..

Sharon (shoots back): What rubbish!!

Nil: Bharat is absolutely right!

Vicky: I second that!

Bharat: Lekin kya naam rakha hai aapne.. Manna padega!

Boys: Nakchadi!!!

Sharon (getting up from her place): Shut up Boys!!!

Vicky: Aare what shut up! Hum toh phir bhi tumhe tolerate kar lete hai.. Bachpan ki dost ho yaar.. (pointing towards Bharat and Amar) But these guys..

Nil: No way!! Especially Swayam!! Uske hit list par ho tum..

Swayam looks up at this comment.. Sharon turns her head to get a reaction from Swayam.. But he was at loss of words.. He just didn't know what to say..

Bharat: Sahi bola bhai!

Vicky: Swayam hates you.. Haan na Swayam.. bol bol..

All the boys encourage him to speak.. But he just couldn't..

Sharon(innocently): Really Swayam? Kya tum sach main mujhe hate karte ho?

Swayam looked at her eyes.. They were eagerly waiting for his reply.. Somewhere they were expecting him to just deny the allegations but he chose to divert his sight.. He looked around and his best friend walked in as a saviour..

Rey (interrupting the silence): Guys main kya keh raha tha ki..

But Sharon stopped him..

Sharon: One sec.. (to Swayam) Bolo na Swayam.. Kya tum sach main mujhe hate karte ho?

Everyone went silent.. Swayam looked at her and just couldn't say anything.. he kept silent.. Sharon's heart was beating faster as if hinting that it's going to shattering soon.. But she still looked at him expectedly.. The silence was again disturbed by Rey..

Rey: Nana, aap bataiye na apne bare main kuch..

Swayam sighed in relief but on the other hand Sharon was left in the middle of nowhere.. Everyone tried to distract the topic and ignore what just happened..

Nana: Filhaal toh meri wajahse nakchadi ka naak aur chad gaya (giggles) Waise yeh bahut kadak hai lekin andar se naram dil insaan hai bilkul naaryal ki tarah..

Bharat: Yeh.. Yeh aur naryaal!

Simi: Yeah! Nana is right!

Rini: Haan iss liye Sharon ko kuch bhi mat bolo!

Rey: I agree.. Sharon andar se bahut soft hai!!

Swayam looked at Sharon to see if she was fine or not and to his surprise she said something that left him stunned..

Sharon: All the more reason hai ke Swayam mere question ka answer de.. So Swayam do you really hate me?

She again looked at Swayam for an answer.. Everyone's sight was bouncing from Swayam to Sharon.. The continuous stares made Swayam a bit conscious.. But Sharon's eyes were just stuck on him for a reply.. It was as if her entire life was dependent on this one answer.. There was pin drop silence.. Everyone waiting for Swayam's reply.. He looked everywhere except Sharon..

Sharon (in mind): Please Swayam.. Kuch toh bolo!

Swayam (in mind): God! Ab main kya karu?.. Sharon ko hate!!.. No way!! Par agar maine yeh sabke saamne bol diya toh phir sabke questions ke answers dene padenge aur kahin iss wajahse Sharon aur mera past reveal na ho jaye.. Aur agar sabke saath agree kar liye toh Sharon bahut hurt hogi.. Main uska dil nahi tod sakta.. God! Kya karu?? Agree karu ke nahi?!

While Swayam was lost in the tiff between Agreeing and Disagreeing all the eyes were glued to him.. The one pair of eyes that were waiting expectedly were now brimming.. Her heart was going numb with each passing second.. She now didn't want to listen to his reply as somewhere she thought she had gauged it..

Just then the silence was broken..

Rini: Swayam silent hai iska matlab he agrees.. (a bit shocked with her own analysis) Yene Swayam Sharon ko hate karta hai!!

All the eyes travelled to Rini.. Everyone just didn't know how to react.. Swayam was too shocked to open his mouth.. He immediately looked at Sharon.. Sharon had gone numb.. She looked at Rini and then at Swayam to see if he says anything in defence but No' he was just looking at her.. Sharon got her answer.. She gulped down a lump in her throat trying her best to control herself.. Swayam saw her breaking.. He saw the tears that were on the edge and were threatening to fall.. He tried to speak but he had lost his voice looking at the immense pain her heart was shedding through her eyes.. She looked at him and smiled.. That was an unexpected reaction he got..

Sharon (smiling): Thanks Swayam.. Mujhe mera answer mil gaya!

Swayam lightly nodded negatively and tried to speak but he just couldn't.. Rey and Simi looked at each other and knew that things have gone way out of control now..

Sharon (trying to control her pain): Guys mujhe event ka kuch kaam khatam karna hai toh I'll see you'll later..

Without sparing anyone a last glance she left from there controlling her tears.. Swayam tried to get up and stop her but his legs weighed heavier than a cement block.. He just didn't understand why was his silence misinterpreted and why couldn't he stop her from misunderstanding him.. He just looked at her retreating figure as she walked out of the canteen.. Simi saw that Swayam had not budged an inch.. Even she didn't understand his reaction but didn't blame him as well.. She rushed behind Sharon as she knew that right now she would be broken into zillions of pieces..

Here Sharon was walking lifeless.. Tear continuously flowing down her cheeks.. It felt as though it was her heart shedding the tears.. Her heart was stabbed so brutally that it couldn't feel anything.. It had gone so numb that no sensation of pain could make it cry anymore.. Her body, heart and soul had lost all hopes.. Her ownself was blaming her for the misery.. She was hating herself.. Her mind was blank.. Her mind played all those instances that she never would want to remember..

Main tumhe jitna bhi chahu tum meri nahi ho sakti.. Tumhare nature main hai mujhe reject karna'

Tum mere liye important nahi ho'

Nahi ho sakti meri life main dusri ladki?.. Agar mujhe koi right ladki milti hai toh haan launga usse apni life main.. Jo mujhe sach pyaar karti ho.. Mujhe trust karti ho toh usse, apne relationship ko ek fair chance dunga'

Simi saw Sharon walking in the corridor.. She ran to her and tried talking..

Simi (giving her a light shake): Sharon!

But she got no response.. Sharon continued walking and Simi was trying to talk to her.. Simi saw a devastated Sharon.. Simi herself had tear looking at the pain so evident on her best friends face.. Though she was at fault in the past but Simi had seen her go through the pain, the rejections and all the efforts she took in these past few days.. She just wanted to be there for her friend right now but only if she atleast responds back.. But Sharon was walking apathetically.. Simi felt a hand on her shoulder.. She turned back to find Rey..

Rey (looking at Sharon): Let her be..

Simi: But Rey.. Sharon!

Rey: Sharon ko iss halat main sirf ek hi insaan sambhal sakta hai aur woh hum dono main se koi nahi hai.. I know Sharon ko iss state main dekhna easy nahi hai but we have to let her be.. Main khud Sharon ke paas jaana chahta hu but..

Simi agreed to Rey.. Both stood there looking at Sharon walk out the college.. Both had moist eyes but were known to the situation and knew that none of them are at fault for all that happened today.. Swayam and Sharon both have their reasons to react the way they did..

On the other hand Swayam had left the canteen and was sitting in the abandon corridor.. He didn't know if he was right or wrong for his action.. And this confusion was getting him frustrated.. He clutched his hair and was just trying to get his thoughts right..

Swayam (in mind): Kya ho gaya hai mujhe? Kya kar raha hu main? Kyun itna confused hu?.. Was I right, jab maine Sharon ke question ka answer nahi diya? Par mere silence ka galat matlab nikala gaya.. I can never hate Sharon.. But agar main tab kuch bolta toh sab ko shak ho jaata and Sharon aur mere past ke bare main sabko pata chal jaata.. Aur main yeh nahi chahta.. Sharon aur mere relationship ka chapter khatam ho gaya hai.. Maine decide kiya tha that I will move on.. Par.. Par pichle kuch dino se Sharon jo kar rahi hai.. Meri dream girl banne ki koshish.. But no she has lost the chance.. Iss baar main ek aur heart-break nahi le paunga.. Agar phir se Sharon ne.. No I can't.. But what if iss baar woh sach bol rahi hai? Agar iss baar Sharon aur main sach main ek ho jaye.. Sharon ko apne se dur kar diya aur agar iss baar woh sach bol rahi ho toh? What if she actually loves me truly just the way I do.. Abhi jo hua, kya uske baad bhi Sharon mujhse pyaar.. Even when she think I hate.. No no iss baar main Sharon ka dil nahi tod sakta.. Agar iss baar tod diya toh shayad main Sharon ko hamesha hamesha ke liye kho dunga.. She won't be able to take this pain.. Sharon aaj bhi mere liye utni hi important hai.. Aaj bhi main uss se utna hi pyaar karta hu.. Agar iss baar Sharon ka pyaar sacha hai then yes I will give our relationship this last chance.. Sharon se main baat karunga.. But Sharon.. Shit!.. I have to talk to her..

He immediately runs out.. While running in the corridor he finds Rey and Simi walking towards him with tensed faces..

Swayam: Rey.. Simi.. Sharon kahan hai?

Simi: Woh.. Sharon.. woh..

Swayam (restless): Woh kya?

Rey: Sharon chali gayi..

Swayam: Kahan?

Simi (looking down): Pata nahi.. Maine use baat karne ki koshish ki but she didn't reply..

Swayam (lost): What!

Swayam stumbled back a few steps not understanding what to do.. He had tears that were on the brim.. His head suddenly shot up and with a determined look he rushed out of college to find her..

Here Sharon was endlessly walking on the empty road like a soulless body.. All their moments from the day they confessed their love.. Swayam's wishes.. Their misunderstanding.. The fights.. Their dances.. Their moments of love.. The hugs.. The kisses.. The secret meets.. To the break-up.. Rejections.. Everything was flashing in front of her eyes.. She kept blaming herself..

Sharon (with tears): Swayam was right.. Mera ego mere destruction ka reason hai.. Main duniya ki sabse badi egoistic, selfish and heartless person hoon.. Swayam jaise insaan ko maine itna hurt kiya hai ke aaj tak woh jis ladki se itna pyaar karta tha aur jiske liye woh kuch bhi kar sakta tha.. Aaj ussi ladki ko woh iss world main sabse jyada hate karta hai.. I deserve it.. I deserve it

She falls down in the middle of the road weeping.. She was unable to handle the pain she felt at the moment.. Her entire world has crumbled into piece when she learnt the fact that Swayam hates her'.. This was the last thing she would ever want to hear.. Or never want to hear.. She thought that crying it out would reduce the heavy load she felt on her heart but as she cried it just kept on increasing..

On the other hand Swayam was riding his cycle with his gaze travelling all over the road.. Trying to spot a familiar figure.. He reached Sharon's house but did not find her there.. He called up Rey to know if he got any phone calls from Sharon.. But to his luck she hadn't contacted anyone.. It was getting late but he had no clue where she was.. Disheartened he turned to the direction leading him back home.. He was all lost in his thoughts..

Swayam (in mind): Kahan ho tum Sharon? Please sirf ek baar mil jao.. I promise iske baad tumhe kabhi apne se dur jaane nahi dunga.. Please Sharon just once.. One last time.. Please come back..

As he was nearing his house and he saw a girl sitting on the bench right opposite the entrance of his house.. She seemed lost.. Within seconds Swayam recognise her to be none other than Sharon.. He was confused as to should he be angry as she had left without informing anyone about her whereabouts or should he be happy that she is standing in front of him.. He immediately rushed and stood in front of her.. She looked at him and that sight had pierced thousands of needles in his heart.. Her eyes blood-shot and swollen.. Her face pale and tear-stained..

Sharon (getting up, with her head held): Swayam woh.. Mujhe.. Tumse kuch baat karni thi..

Swayam: Andar chalke baat karte hai..

Sharon (hesitant): No actually its fine here.. Main tumhe aur uncomfortable nahi feel karvana chahti..

That was another stab in his already wounded heart.. He could sense the amount of pain she was presently going through..

Swayam (a bit sternly): Sharon! Andar chalo.. Bahar thand ho rahi hai.. You'll fall sick..

Sharon looked at him completely confused.. Why was he worried about her health if he hated her?.. Her heart somewhere softly murmured Because he loves you'.. But her mind immediately covered up saying Out of humanity'.. She so wanted to listen to her heart but the situation felt more in the favour of the mind..

Both of them silently walked inside.. Just as they entered Sharon stopped in the hall way..

Sharon (looking down): Swayam woh..

Swayam (turning to her): Haan bolo?

Sharon (hesitantly): I'm sorry..

Swayam looked at her and was confused.. Just then he saw a lone tear trickling down her cheek.. She immediately wiped it and looked at him..

Sharon: I'm sorry.. Tumhe itna tang karne ke liye.. Tumhe itna uncomfortable feel karvane ke liye.. You were right that my ego will be the reason for my destruction.. You were always right.. Galat main thi.. Hamesha.. Maine tumhara trust toda.. Tumhare pyaar ki insult ki.. Tumhari insult ki.. You were right jab tumne mujhse break-up kiya.. I don't deserve you.. Tum jaisa insaan jo khud ke pehle sabke bare main sochta hai.. Tum ne hamesha mujhe samjha..Mera saath diya.. Chahe main kitni bhi galat rahu par tumne kabhi mera saath nahi choda.. A person like you doesn't deserve an egoist, self-centred and selfish person like me.. (starts breaking down) You deserve way better.. Main relations ki value nahi samjhti.. Logon ki value nahi samjhti.. Main kabhi kisi ke feeling aur emotions ke bare main nahi sochti.. Main bahut impulsive hu.. Aur tumhe hamesha hurt karti hu.. Main tumhe kisi cheez ke liye blame nahi kar sakti kyunki tum galat ho hi nahi.. Galat main hu.. It's me.. I'm sorry maine tumhe itna hurt kiya.. Aur tumhare paas harr reason hai mujhe hate karne ke liye.. Main bahut buri hu.. Bahut buri.. bahut bu..

She was completely broken and her heart felt more pain accepting all that she just said.. The weight she felt made her knees go weak and she collapsed..

Swayam himself had tears hearing whatever she said.. And looking at the love of his life devastated right in front of him.. He was just nodding negatively as she was accusing herself.. When he saw her falling down he immediately rushed to her and caught her by her shoulders.. She was crying hysterically.. He pulled her into a hug and held her as if he would lose her if he didn't hold on to her.. She had her hands on his chest and she continued crying.. She felt him hug tight and in response she cried even more..

Swayam (soothing her back and controlling his tears): Nahi Sharon.. Tum buri nahi ho.. Tum buri ho hi nahi sakti.. Meri Sharon iss duniya ke sabse sweet aur caring insaan hai.. (he felt her nodding negatively) Koi usse hate kar hi nahi sakta.. Main khud bhi nahi.. (smiling) Thodi pagal hai.. Thodi impulsive hai.. Par jaisi bhi hai Meri Sharon' hai.. Maine ussi pagal aur impulsive Sharon se pyaar kiya hai.. So don't you dare say anything about her..

Sharon (slowly breaking the hug, innocently looking at him): Agar tum usse itna hi pyaar karte ho toh usse apne se dur kyun kar diya?

Swayam (wiping her tears and cupping her face): Usne mere pyaar ko puri duniya ke saamne reject kar diya tha par iska matlab yeh toh nahi na ke main usse hate karne lagu?!.. Main ghussa tha.. bahut ghussa tha.. Par inn kuch dino main Meri Sharon ne aisa kuch kiya that she made me fall in love with her all over again..

Sharon (innocently): Sach?

Swayam (smiling): Much..

Sharon: Iska matlab tum mujhe hate nahi karte? (he nods negatively) Tum ab bhi mujhse utna hi pyaar karte ho? (he nods positively while wiping off the remnants of the tears on her cheek ) Tum ab bhi mujhse ghussa ho?

He acts as if he is thinking increasing her curiosity.. He smiles looking at her..

Swayam (cupping her face): I love you Sharon.. Aur main jyada waqt tak tumse ghussa nahi reh sakta.. I want to give us another chance.. I want you and me back to US.. Tum mere liye bahut precious ho Sharon.. I can't let you go.. Never..

Sharon was so happy listening to his reply that she just crushes herself into his arms..

Sharon: I love you Swayam.. I really really really Love you.. Please kabhi mujhse dur mat jaana.. I can't live without you..

Swayam: I love you too Sharon..Aur marte dum tak karta rahunga.. Main bhi tumse dur nahi reh sakta.. You are my life!

Two souls back together after facing such vicious sides of life.. But this time they promised to be stronger and face come what may.. But TOGETHER.. Life had taught them a few lessons though the hard way.. At the end they were where they belonged.. In each other's arms..
