I'm here very late but I simply couldn't resist😳
@Bold, My point exactly. We are the net savvy viewers, we are wise enough to allow for creative license, we can tell real from reel, but what about those MASSES that Gul caters to? If hot and handsome Asad Ahmed Khan can drag his fiance and hand her over to his brother while she sobs and pleads with him, what is to prevent the average Joe who owns the paan/beedi shop from doing the same with his sister/wife? If smart, foreign bred Zoya has no say in who she marries, what hope do the millions of girls across the sub continent have of living life on their own terms?
Having said that, I still would like to give Gul the benefit of doubt. Her characters seem almost bi-polar, switching from upright and progressive to spineless and regressive within a few scenes, but just maybe there is a plan here... In her interviews she did say so far the story was only being set up... I am hoping that by that she meant that her characters will now, through this track evolve into stronger more responsible humans. I am hoping that she has shown this utterly regressive track to be able to highlight how wrong both Asad and Zoya are (Nikhat, Ayaan and Humeira too) and in the near future shows them acknowledging and rectifying their mistakes.
If this is truly Gul's plan, then judging by the viewers furor I think she's already been partly successful. Yes, I know that many are only interested in a superficial story and want AsYa together at any cost, but thankfully there are also many like Rapunzale who abhor this track for all the valid reasons👏
If Gul meant through this track, for us to witness a grave injustice being done, then yes, we have noticed it, now please do every woman out there a service and put it right!
