@Bold, My point exactly. We are the net savvy viewers, we are wise enough to allow for creative license, we can tell real from reel, but what about those MASSES that Gul caters to? If hot and handsome Asad Ahmed Khan can drag his fiance and hand her over to his brother while she sobs and pleads with him, what is to prevent the average Joe who owns the paan/beedi shop from doing the same with his sister/wife? If smart, foreign bred Zoya has no say in who she marries, what hope do the millions of girls across the sub continent have of living life on their own terms?

Having said that, I still would like to give Gul the benefit of doubt. Her characters seem almost bi-polar, switching from upright and progressive to spineless and regressive within a few scenes, but just maybe there is a plan here... In her interviews she did say so far the story was only being set up... I am hoping that by that she meant that her characters will now, through this track evolve into stronger more responsible humans. I am hoping that she has shown this utterly regressive track to be able to highlight how wrong both Asad and Zoya are (Nikhat, Ayaan and Humeira too) and in the near future shows them acknowledging and rectifying their mistakes.

If this is truly Gul's plan, then judging by the viewers furor I think she's already been partly successful. Yes, I know that many are only interested in a superficial story and want AsYa together at any cost, but thankfully there are also many like Rapunzale who abhor this track for all the valid reasons👏

If Gul meant through this track, for us to witness a grave injustice being done, then yes, we have noticed it, now please do every woman out there a service and put it right!

👏👏

Gul has mis leaded the viewers from the very beginning when she said that QH is her way to clear misconceptions in Islam and the Muslim culture...but apparently, instead do clearing them she has misguided and confirmed them...knowing her track record from her previous work I don't think she has any intentions of rectifying the mistakes. She starts her female protagonists as independent..smart ...vibrant but slowly down the road she turns them into someone like Nikhat. Gul khan has self declared that her inspiration is Mill and Boons where the male characters are usually dominating arrogant and physically abusive. As far as I understand Gul khan is here to make money and not change the regressive views of Indian society.
You stated your pov very well.
