Flashback: 3rd June, 2011

Realizing that it was time for chhote malik to reach home, Pakhi quickly cleaned the mirror. Sharmi escaped from their home and reach Shivom's place, panting. She was happy after many days. Seeing Pakhi with her in-laws in that haveli made her feel elated. She was happy for her friend. She got confused, "Shall I tell Pakhi the truth and shatter her faith in her new family, Shall I keep the secret with me and let humanity suffer, Shall I..Shall I...". Sharmi...A husky voice called from behind. "Where were you Sharmi, Maa was worried. I searched for you at all nearby places". Sharmi told Shivom that she wanted to leave Kaaliganj forever. "But where would you go Sharmi?" She was quiet. She didnot have an answer. She wanted some time alone, to herself, to decide whether to contact Pakhi or not. As shivom realised that she had no place to go to, Shivom asked her, "Will you marry me? I have fallen in love with you." She started shivering. Shivom asked her to relax. "I would give you whole night to think over it and tell me your answer tomorrow."

Agantuk reached home, disturbed and suspicious. While he sat down and had dinner, Pakhi stared at him, watched him eat. She realized that chhote malik had forgotten that she was fasting. Agantuk went to bed. With tears in her eyes, Pakhi convinced herself that chhote malik is too tired today to remember about her Savitri Chaturthi fast. She decided to not eat anything and slept.

Sharmi kept changing sides, and kept thinking. A new path had lighted up in her stagnant life. She could see her parents getting respect once again. They had been boycotted since the day Sharmi had failed in Ganga Kii dheej. She could see Pakhi's life progressing forward. Everything seemed good to her. She wanted to forget her nightmare and start a new life. She became selfish. She chose "her family, her friend and herself" before humanity.

4th Update

It was 2 AM. Suddenly Agantuk's eyes opened. He sensed that Pakhi was fast asleep. As he kept listening to her rhythmic breathing, he realized a truthfulness and innocence in it. After a disturbed and tensed day, he was finally calm. He had taken a decision.

7 AM
Sharmi served breakfast and medicine to Shivom's mother. Shivom entered her room and told her, "I am waiting for your answer." Sharmi asked him, how can you marry me without knowing about my family. He convinced her that he is impressed with the way his mother has healed with her care and presence. He told her that she has won his heart. Hesitatingly, Sharmi told Shivom that she is a citizen of this same village and was sent to narak ka dwar on her marriage night. Shivom was startled, he asked her how she managed to escape? Sharmi thought for a while and lied, "I managed to get a way out of the vast empty jungle and here I am." Though I have not yet gone to my family. Dejectedly, Shivom left the room.

As agantuk came outof the bed, Pakhi entered the room with a coffee tray. Looking fresh and happy, she prepared his coffee and gave it to him. She sensed that Agantuk has totaly forgotten of her fast. Taking it lightly, she sat in front of the mirror, started combing her wet hair and casually told him, chhote malik, tomorrow is Sunday. I want to spend time with you. Is it possible. Agantuk nodded and again got lost in his thoughts.

Wearing green shirt and grey trousers, Agantuk managed to intimidate Pakhi at the breakfast table as usual. Though Agantuk's mind was somewhere else. Uttara and pishi maa sensed that Pakhi is blushing. They both alomost got insecure again, imagining that Pakhi and Agantuk are falling more and more in love day by day. Agantuk exchanged a casual smile with Pakhi and left for work. "Where are you lost. Atleast taste the breakfast. It tastes like hospital food. I wonder how poor Agantuk managed to finish it without a complaint!", asked Pishi maa. Grandma joined, "Arre, our Agantuk is used to of royal dining. But how will this girl understand it. She will always cook plain, flavourless food, typical of her status." Pakhi got up and apologised. Pishi maa, I am sorry that you didn't like it. I would cook again for you. Uttara told her rolling her eyes, "Now, leave it Pakhi. Repeatedly making food wont give you better cooking skills. Today onwards, my chhotu pishi will supervise you whenever you cook so that my bhai doesnot need to eat this tasteless food everyday." Batting her long eyelashes, she left the table.
