The film tells the story of Keshav, played by Akshay Kumar, who marries Jaya, portrayed by Bhumi. When Jaya raises concerns about the absence of a toilet in their home, Keshav attempts to address the issue, only to face resistance from his family and village due to deep rooted beliefs.
On the work front, Bhumi will next be seen in the crime thriller series Daldal, which is set to premiere worldwide on Prime Video on January 30. The series is based on Vish Dhamija’s book Bhendi Bazaar and is produced by Abundantia Entertainment. Created by Suresh Triveni and directed by Amrit Raj Gupta, it is set in Mumbai.
In Daldal, Bhumi plays Rita Ferreira, the newly appointed DCP of Mumbai Crime Branch. The teaser suggests a dark narrative involving a serial killer, intense violence, and psychological conflict. As Rita investigates the case, she also confronts internal bias within the force. The series also stars Samara Tijori and Aditya Rawal.
