Govinda responds to split speculations, claims wife Sunita Ahuja is being misused

Veteran actor Govinda has finally addressed persistent rumours about a rift with his wife Sunita Ahuja, claiming she is unknowingly being drawn into what he described as a “big conspiracy”. Speaking after months of speculation, the actor said remaining silent had started to make him appear weak and misunderstood.

Rumours about trouble in the couple’s marriage have circulated for some time. While Sunita Ahuja has dismissed divorce reports, she earlier said in an interview that she would never forgive Govinda if allegations about an affair were proven true. Against this backdrop, Govinda chose to present his version in a recent conversation with ANI.

Explaining his decision to speak up, Govinda said, “What I’ve been observing lately is that sometimes when we don’t speak, we either appear weak or it seems like we are simply the problem. So today, I’m responding. I was told that people in my family might be unknowingly involved and they won’t realise they are being used in the initial stages of a big conspiracy.”

He added that such situations first impact families before spilling into society. “First, the family gets affected, and then it extends to society. I’ve been disconnected from work for many years; there’s no market for my films. Please don’t mistake this as me complaining or crying. I’ve rejected many films myself, so I don’t cry about it,” he said.

Govinda also shared what Sunita often tells him at home. “Aapko jo chahiye, wo milta nahi hai. Aur jo milta hai wo aapko chahiye nahi hai. Toh fir ghar kaise chalega?” he recalled. However, he claimed she does not see how she herself is being pulled into the situation. “But she can never imagine that she herself has been unknowingly placed in a big conspiracy, with her being thrown into the field as the opening batsman,” he said.

The actor further alleged that extreme popularity often invites attempts to destroy reputations. “To ruin someone’s reputation in society and impose something on them… when your popularity in the film industry crosses a certain point, many people come forward to destroy you,” Govinda said. He added that he prays for clarity, peace, and no misunderstandings within his family.

He also spoke about jokes aimed at him on Krushna Abhishek’s shows. “The writers would make him deliver dialogues in a way that insulted me,” Govinda said, adding that alertness is necessary to protect one’s dignity.
