First the bad news - The 'numero uno' Tamil actress Asin will not be the heroine of Aamir Khan in the Hindi remake of Ghajini.Ayesha Takia is going to play the role of Kalpana made memorable by Asin.

Aamir Khan will do the lead role of the guy suffering from short term memory loss, out to avenge the death of his lover.

The entire technical crew of the film is from Kollywood and hence it was decided that the cast should be from Bollywood! This was one of the reasons why Asin lost out to Ayesha.

In fact Aamir Khan who had seen the original was all in awe of Asin's performance and had recommended her strongly for the project.
Ayesha Takia was flown in from Mumbai and after the camera test, she was selected to do the coveted role of a middle-class, small time model who becomes the sweetheart of a business tycoon.

Sources close to the production house comments: "Ayesha has a perfect blend of innocence and glamour and moreover her performance in the recent Nagesh Kukunoor directed Dor had come in for lot of appreciation."

I think Ayesha would fit the role to the T.I watched the Tamil film with subtitles yesterday.It was the best film I've seen in a long time

Asin was disarming and VERY natural,and so young..She was only 19 when she did the film....I believe she won the best actress award for the film .. Ayesha is bubly,chirpy and happy go lucky, like the character!!

Aamir I feel is a bit too old to do the role, Aamir would have to work hard on his body and looks, ..Aamir being the perfectionist can still can blow everyone away with his performance.If this film releases in 2007,then Aamir would beat everyone at the awards,Guru etc is ZILCH infront of this character!! 😃 ..Anyone else seen this film??

i did watch it too Buffie. it was an amazing film. asin's kalpana character was one of the most memorable characters in tamil films. surya did great as sanjay ramasamy!👏👏 aamir has some big shoes to fill. he is a great actor but i think he still has to pay attention to details like his physique.

anyways, Ghajini is one of the best films ever. surya & asin created magic with their chemistry, i hope aamir & ayesha can pull it off as well.😃 and about ayesha filling in asin's shoes? she'll manage to do that perfectly! ayesha has never disappointed me with her performance.

i hope they get harris jeyaraj to score the music. ghajini's songs are evergreen & meledious!

ahhh.. i just can't wait to see the hindi version of it though i think i'll still deem the tamil version as the better one.

No jiggly,AR Rahman is doing the music...I really hold Rehman in high esteem,but there are times when he can muck it up..I dont understand why they need to rope in ARR,when Harris has indeed given terrific music😕...Ghajini's songs were superb😃..I heard them for the first time yesterday,and cant get over two of the songs..Its ironical you know,being a Tamilian,I never watched this film until yesterday..SIGH,wonder how many more such masterpeices I missed out on😭...I want to rent the DVD of every every movie of Asin and Surya once exams get over in April..I havent watched any film of either of them barring Ghajini😭

Aamir needs to REALLY work on his physique and look!That's why I felt Hrithik was perfect,he's got the body,the requisite acting skills to pull it off,and he's young too😳...SIGH,he's stuck with some crap with Kareena Kapoor and Farhan Akhthar..Its hard to imagine Aamir donning the garb of a young astute businessman..His performance would make up for it though,but whether it would beat Surya's exceptional performance⭐️ is for time to decide!..Added to the performance,Surya looked so great😳 (when he was normal)..Wonder how his missed out on the award ,to Vikram..Anniyan wasnt better than Ghajini😕,In my opinion

PC though might do better than Nayantara,Chitra's performance was strictly passable,nothing too exceptional..And true,cant wait for Kajri to release...This has become the most awaited film on my list,pipping out Jodhaa Akbar😃

i double agree on the A.R Rehman part. he makes terrific music but there have been quite a few occasions when his music was just.. never mind.😕 since the whole technical crew is from kollywood, the music director should also be from kollywood. harris jeyraj did a great job in Ghajni and the director didn't have enough sense to rope him in in Kajri? what an irony.

lols! i guess you are more in tune with bollywood than with the south. for me, i have to have my does of tamil films if not i'll go mad.

asin did a great job in Ghajini but her other performances are usually xerox copies of her Kalpana character. she is always chirpy & bubbly. for a change she should try a serious role cos she is a good actress. i don't like to see her stuck with the bubbly mould till the end. she should try to become a character artiste instead of the typical commerical heroine.

surya is an excellent actor. there are mastepieces in tamil films too maybe not as much as there is in bollywood but still.. you should try watching vikram's films too. he is baby B's fav tamil actor after all.😉 try watching 'Anniyan' & 'Sethu' (the original version of Tere Naam'.)

chitra's role in ghajini was limited & didn't even let nayantara reveal her true potential. she is a good actress but that chitra role just got her stuck with the sex symbol scopeless role while kalpana walked away with the praise.😊 it was an irony that the role nayantara thought would make her career almost broke it.😆😆

i hope PC's career wouldn't take a nosedive after Kajri. as nayantara openly said in an interview that playing chitra in ghajini was a big mistake in her career.

I dont think the director has any say,Its Aamir who calls the shots😆..Poor director,hope Aamir doesnt interfere too much with the script/direction like how he does in every other film..Sethu,I havent watched,neither have I seen Tere Naam.Anniyan,saw the dubbed hindi version,and it wasnt my cup of tea..Too much violence and way too many grotesque scenes🤢.....But Vikram and Surya are truly very talented👏

PC's career is already taking a nosedive😆,Krrish,Aap Ki Khatir,SEI,she hammed all these films....In the race of grabbing Big Banner projects,she compromised on QUALITY..Vidya,Ayesha,Kangana would soo pip PC out,if she doesnt choose her roles meticulously!!...She might have signed on KAjri,not to antagonize Aamir(he holds it against those who refuse his films),but I pray Chitra's role is well fleshed out in the Hindi version

Infact I'm glad that The role went to Ayesha..Ayesha,Kangana,Vidya, Priyanka,Sonam Kapoor etc are the future ..These future starlets score over the present crop of actresses(Rani,Ash,PZ) as they are more talented👏

I havent seen Gajni...but I wonder whether Aamir will be able to pull off the young guy look....He can act, we all knw tht---but he did look pretty old in RDB---u could see the wrinkles on his face....


I didnt like Ayesha in SEI...but I heard she was good in Dor....she looks cute in the pic! 😳 😳 😳
