I have not expected this, I thought that after a month I would be free, but here I have to wait till the next appointment for both the posts are made.

Finding an assistant is easy but a good secretary seemed impossible, but I consoled myself as the word in itself says, I'm possible.

From that day on I started pretending as if that evening never existed, as if he never accused me, I was all set to find someone for the posts.

I have lost hope after I have met Dr. Arjun but when Sir cracked my password I was hopeful; all my hopes, he will never accept me now.

As the week passed I noticed Sir looking at me quite often, one day as he was looking at me my hand unconsciously went to touch the ring that hung around my neck; I was startled as the ring was missing, I did not know what to do, I was so use to wearing it that I did not notice when it slipped from my neck.

I started looking around, I searched and searched but all in vain, I even called the cleaner and asked him if he had found it, but he denied.

I was shocked; I sat there with my face covered with my palms and tears rolling down my cheeks.

"You are searching for this!" his voice startled me

I looked only to find Sir standing in front of me, holding my chain and ring in his hand.

I did not know what to say, I just looked at him feeling guilty somewhere

"This is yours" he said, his face expressionless

I was alarmed to see him looking unblinkingly at me

I could not utter a word

"Geet I am asking you something" his eyes softened a bit

But I was tongue tied

"Ok, let me ask others as it seems it does not belong to you" he moved backwards is gaze still on me

I instantly stood up, "it's mine"

"I found it lying here last evening after you left" he stated as a matter of fact

What was he doing here after I left? Was he again spying my computer? But I chose to be quite

"I was not spying" he read my mind, I felt more guilty, "I came to keep that US file and found this on the floor near the desk"

"I am sorry" was all that I could manage to say, I looked everywhere but him

"This is my ring" he again stated

I was startled, does he remember it

"No I do not remember, Annie told me" he said again reading my mind.

I did not know what to say

"Geet, did I propose you" he asked sounding a bit tired

I gathered my wits, "Sir, don't strain your brain, please, the past is past, and think about the present and the future. The past is always better forgotten" though I have to out a stone on my heart to say this but I did not want sir to stress himself

"Geet, do you love me?" he asked it simply

I smiled, "nothing matters Sir, the thing that holds any relevance is do you love me or not"

He sighed, "What is this about Nokia 6600, it sounds stupid but this mobile seems to be important"

I was again startled, "what about Nokia 6600?"

"Your password had this name, and I too knew it, WHY!" he was annoyed again

"Sir relax"

"I want answers Geet, I am fad up of so many questions; I want peace; you don't know Geet but I get visions of some fort, of my father and sometimes of a girls spying at someone" he turned and held my arms, "and the girl is you Geet, you"

I was shocked, I first controlled my irregular breath and then said, "Sir you were very close to your father, that fort which you see was the place you visited every Sunday when you were there for 6 months"

"How do you know?" he asked

"You once took my bro, his fianc then and me there for picnic" I told him

"It was me who told you about my likes and dislikes" he asked

"Sir, you came to our place daily after office to give me tuitions, and you left after having dinner, that's why I know so much about your taste" I tried to sound aloof

"Is it that simple?" he asked

"Yes" I stated

"Then why does this ring say Maan Ki Geet" he shouted

I was rendered speechless
