Other than Tum Hi Ho, every other song was pedestrian. So Idk what the brouhaha about A2's music is. Like I said, 20 years from now, the chances of Tum Hi Ho being retained is higher than any of the songs of this film, combined.

No, without songs like Tum hi ho which has become a rage , and even Sun raha hai the initial buisness would have been different.Lets just accept the contribution of music in the movie.

Accepting the contribution of the music to the film and concluding that music was the sole pull for the film are two entirely different things. The topic is speculating the latter. Of course the music contributed but was that the sole factor that led to its success? I think not. If that were the case, movies like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Jaaneman etc would work as well. Instead they tanked.

Just realized that. thanx Dexter.😊
The WOM has not been very impressive as fas as i know so the music has contributed a lot if not completely, like taking a semi-hit movie to super-hit tag.
Tum hi ho was loved by one and all, it was no Jhoom barabar jhoom or Humko maloom hai that only a certain section liked. It contributed hugely though i agree not completely.

Everything counts in making a movie a hit! U cannot attribute it to one factor!

music plays big part in creating a buzz nd in opening..if the overall content is gud it will be a hit..nd in aashiqui 2 case music is the main factor..without hit music it would have fell short 10-15 cr in overall run..
