Many people are saying Ashiqui 1 had better music .But even after giving good performances by both of the lead ,Would Ashiqui 2 have work at the Box office WITHOUT THESE SONGS ? I am loving each and every song ..They are so soulful and lyrics are too good if you compare among songs of recent times ...

I feel first credit must be given to Music directors and lyricists ...

It got a massive response due to music !
I don't think it would have done good business, had the music failed to grab attention.

I don't agree with music making a film hit if that was the case than many movies would've been a hit that flopped at the box office. Yes music helps but it's the leads that help the most. Aditya is a cutie and a hottie, he looked good

music is only part of the movie...not heart of the movie...Aashiqui 2 is good in all aspects...story...acting...screenplay...audience watches the movie for its story...and trailers plays the big part of it...all of Aashiqui 2 trailers click the audience and made them eager to watch the film...

some real good music films fails miserably...there are list of films that have great music...with big stars...big banners...but they flop...so music can't make a film hit ...the story...content...acting...screenplay plays a big part...and Aashiqui 2 is a good movie..

Yes it would have worked. IMO, it worked because Aashiqui 2 came out at a time when the public was fed one masala flick after another. So the good old bollywood tragic romance acted as a breath of fresh air in the midst of all the masala films. Aashiqui 2's music is good but is in no way on the same level as its predecessor, so the music isn't the sole reason why it worked. I think 20 years from now only Tum Hi Ho will be remembered whereas all the songs of Aashiqui 1 are still popular till date, so I really don't think the music was of much help here.

Without Tum Hi Ho, the film wouldn't have made so much money in its first weekend. The music played a very big part in building interest in the film for sure. Would it have worked without the music? Eventually because then positive WOM would havecaught up...so what I'm saying is that without the music, the film would have worked but not as well as it has now.

Bhatt stamp but without the erotic stuff, new folks, and add completely flop music = not many takers. Otherwise why would Bhatts + TSeries release all the songs first and the trailer much later? Every other film does it the other way around--trailer first and then songs. When you do it the other way around, it means you're banking on the songs to create the hype for you.

A hit and popular soundtrack makes a lot of difference. Always.
