Too much negativity is the main reason. The other reason is that the writing and direction is getting worse. Even RS seems to have lost interest in writing dialogues. CVs are depending too much on 'high points' to increase TRPs but that doesn't work. Balraj's death got 4+ TRPs because it was a high point but fell hugely the week after. Sultan's much hyped entry was another high point but his flat character took the show down almost immediately. What ST needs to concentrate on is crisp and tight writing. And spare us the continuous negativity please😡

Saurabh Tewari has always maintained that content drives TRPs, and not the other way around. I am assuming that the channel and PH are satisfied with a steady state of 2.5 - 2.8 level TRPs. If not, then perhaps its time for them to take a hard look at these numbers and figure out what the issues with the content are. And/or, read the EDT thread for pointers! Several of us on the EDT have commented about how there seems to be an unending supply of negativity, plus weak characterization of new additions to track. My view is this show is a love story, and the lack of positivity in the storyline, and feel good moments is having an impact on TRPs.
