I am usually the girl who is with the so called bashers all the way. But this time I disagree. If someone's recklessness had got my mother shot where she was fighting for her life. She could possibly die...I would slap that person as hard as I could too. Its not about man and woman as many people seem to think. It isnt that Zoya is a woman, and that is why he is hitting her. It isnt like he is trying to show he is stronger than her. No, he is mad as hell that Zoya caused his mother to be shot (according to him, that is).
I have always been against Asad for the way he judges girls especially Zoya. I thought there were many times when his behavior towards Zoya was outright disgusting, but this time I cannot blame him. The wound was fresh, his mothers blood was still on his pristine shirt. If Najma's recklessness had caused his mother to be shot, he would have hit her too. If Ayan had caused it...he would have hit him too.
You reap what you sow. And yes we know Zoya wasnt to blame, but he doesnt. According to him it was all Zoya's fault. Even after he repeatedly told Zoya to send Mariyam away, she didnt (according to him).
When someone you love the most is fighting for their life...you tend to lose your head. You dont think about the differences in sex or differences in size, or right or wrong. You react. You lash out at the person who caused this misery to you.
If he had hit her for something else, like for leaving pizza on the floor or something then I would have absolutely disagreed, but this was really big. It was life and death.
That being said, is it right to hit a woman...or hit someone weaker than you. I dont think so. Infact my roommate and I have had this conversation many times. She has a boyfriend and she knows that if she hits her boyfriend really hard where it hurts the most 😉 then he will hit back...as a reflex. He will hit her in the shins most probably or dead leg her. And she thinks he would be perfectly justified because you cannot hit someone and not expect them to hit back just because you are a woman and he is a man. That is a double standard she says. You started it...you hit him enough to bring him to his knees, so if he hits you then you deserve it. And I always argued with her at this point because I think it is not right to hit a woman in any circumstance because she is technically weaker than a man (especially me, I am very weak..no upper body strength). But now that I actually witnessed it in a show...I see her point. And yes this scenario isnt the same as what happened with Asad, it is much worse. His mother got shot...could have died. That's huge. All he did was slap her, someone else might have killed her.
Oh and Zoya herself feels responsible, I think, which is why she didn't say anything to Asad for the slap. Yes she was afraid of him, but I really think she felt really guilty.
