Sorry about the language but... Akshay couldn't be as big as them cuz he didn't suck KJo's or Salman's you know what. That's what it takes to make it big there from what I've observed.

im a Akshay supporter and he does hype ..and nothing wrong in it ..the only movie he disassociatec was joker because it was lame and his khiladi786 was hyped but turned out tobe avg this year while and checked RR blockbuster and H2 superhit

He has the ability to surpass the Khan's, its not even the material really because it's not like Dabangg is the most brain involving movies, dont get me wrong Salman and Akki are my two favorites but he has chosen some really really stupid movies to do ie. Chandni Chowk To China and Joker, but he has at times surpassed even the Khan's, Singh is Kingg and Namastey London being prime examples.

When he consistently begins doing plots with a strong storyline is when he will acheive that ATBB success, it can easily happen for him, he totally has the fan base.

In the world of glamour luck plays a crucial role. The Khans are very lucky to have been able to rule on top for so long. Hard work is done by all and guess the strugglers do the most but does luck shower on them? No and they are lost in oblivion. You may be very good actor -Paresh Rawal, Mithun, Anupam Kher, On Puri but you never got your due-why? Hard luck. Loads of luck is needed to reach the top and unless you have that, nothing helps. Vivek Oberoi, Arjun Rampal, Riteish Deshmukh suddenly have luck smiling on them.

SRK, AK and SK all have great luck on their sides. They have cultivated a charm with people and risen above the character played in the movie and viewers loved it.

This is what gives them the iconic status. For eg Dabanng 2 cld only work becoz of Salman, Don1-2 becoz of SRK, 3 Idiots for Aamir. THey have managed to rise above the madness and their true self connects with people. People are not loving the character but the star playing the character.

Akshay has been hard on the luck side and also has not been able to rise above the character. He has to cultivate that charm/charishma. People need to feel Akshay is Rowdy/Khiladi and not vice versa. Just like Rahul/Raj for SRK and Prem for Salman.
