Yeah he confuses audience. Does too many films. One or two good, rest all craps. Too bad he never managed to give a year's biggest hit or an ATBB. Even if he bounces back he just gives hits/superhits but never the yearly top grosser or ATBB.

Ajay maybe at equal status. Ajay debut PAK was 2nd highest grosser of 91 after Saajan. Which was a super hit. Later he had many hits in 90s like Diljale, Jigar, Ishq, Suhaag, Naajayaz, Zakhm the later more noticeable bigger hits like Dilwale,Pyaar to hona hi Tha, Hum Dil Chuke Sanam. The came more serious films from Deewangee, Gangajal, TLOBS, Yuva,Apahran and Raincoat which took him off BO charts. Then his hits started again Omkara, Golmaal, All The Best, Golmaal returns, Golmaal 3, OUATIM, Singham, Raajneeti, SOS and Bol Bachchan

In fact he has 3 blockbusters which is also1 more than Akki

Akshay seems so badly slotted in his image that even if he does a different film it doesn't seem different. Special Chhabis is different and serious but I admit whenever I look at Akki's face it seems as if he'll break into a silly grin any moment! Subconsciously I forever expect him to break into that trademark silly grin he does in his comedy films.

You sure Diljale, Jigar types are clean hits? I agree Ajay had become bigger than Akki when he had Ishq, Pyar to honi hi tha and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. But Akki kind of played catch up in last decade when Ajay took a more serious route, no?

As of now he seems sort of ahead of Ajay in a sense that an Akki film at least becomes third biggest hit or second biggest hit unlike an Ajay Devgan film which becomes a hit but never collects much beyond 100 crore.

Yep they were both clean hits infact in top 5 hits of the year they come out in

he is a big star.. he is more popular then SRK, Salman, Amir combined all together atleast here..
