Catharsis,the actor, the gentleman!

Dutta/Mishal... looking over my shoulder 22 months later

Do you feel, that a strong load of suppressed emotions can make the mind do strange things.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing..., how can I shirk off, the hot of the press knowledge about both Dutta /Mishal. Still I managed to see Friday's 25th March 2011 episode. First and foremost, I couldn't even with great effort, differentiate between Dutta/Mishal; between fact and fiction; between real and unreal. Friends, the rude reminders of hearsay prevailed, and in every word that Dutta uttered in every scene, the actor seemed to message his audience and fans. I saw in the episode the graceful Mishal/Dutta welcoming the new character in the show. I watched him as Mishal/Dutta admire the complete persona of the new entrant in the show. I also noticed in Mishal/Dutta's smile the lion we all know so well! I also noted a certain humble aura around our Mishal/Dutta, despite the fact, that in role he was a larger than life character and no less as the actor! To me there was a credible sincerity devoid of all animosity towards the yarns being spun against both Dutta/ Mishal...

Dutta's dialogue " life is giving us a fresh start and so there should be no hate now".. said it all to me by the actor and the gentleman. Friends, to me it was almost as if Mishal was saying to us his fans to forgive all those involved in orchestrating the then hate campaign against him. What a gentleman actor , I say again...even now in January 2013

However, one may well say that the above mentioned text were dialogues that Mishal/Dutta was primed to say, true, but to me why did they seem real!

Because, the Mishal we love is known to us as a transparent man. He has been very open in displaying his emotions towards his fans. He has been honest to share his future aspirations and dreams with everyone. Mishal has also provided evidence to clarify rumors rife during that period about his on set behaviour. Mishal in his interviews, has used his own life to raise awareness to good health by talking about sensible eating and regular exercise . He has also promoted the message of don't drink and drive by starting his business venture PHD. Mishal has also referred to hard work and dedication to one's profession. He has always referred to his mum and sisters and friends and dog in his interviews showing us that he is a sensitive man who loves and values all who love him! This is the Mishal whom we all adore! What an actor and a gentleman.

Finally, I would like to add that although many of us forum friends had at that moment in time decided to adopted a less violent approach in true Ghandhi Jee spirit.

We I would still reiterate that I denounce the treatment given to an actor by his employers.I believe that an actor should have a voice, a union to protect his /her rights within his/her profession, I am not quite sure if such a body exists. With regards to Dutta/Mishal, I would have liked further investigation into the barge of negative issues that come to light against him regularly without fail. But as this never happened ,it makes me believe that perhaps the actor was unwilling to waste his time and energy on such matters. Hence forth no due action was taken against employers for causing stress to an employee by devaluing his work, for coercing an employee out of his employment by using bullying tactics of circulating baseless stories in the media. For wilfuly misconstruing an actor's professional development and using this to slur his name publicly, which to this day distresses me as his devout fan.

It should also be exposed that certain management professionals of the organization have incurred financial losses to the company by keeping viewers in the dark about the shocking abrupt ending story line by doing away with the male lead who is the USP of the show. Thus leaving viewers no choice but to show contempt by cancelling their subscriptions... like many of us did in 2011..

Viewers of LTL 1 awaited a judgement from colors channel based on, either in reinstating the actor back to employment or a public apology by Colors management to viewers, for making them live in misery and uncertainty for the last four January 2011~ March 2011.. months, about their beloved show and the man who made the show for them Mishal Raheja! .. but we never got any..

In yesterday's show Mishal/Dutta gave us another hopeful; message " I dream that there's you and me, and in between there's lots of happiness"! So we rest our case of Dutta/Mishal an actor and a gentleman in God's hands, waiting for His justice to prevail... waiting for the actor and the gentleman to return in another memorable role..

hi hammie 😊
very very well written part.. ...agree with every word...
its been two years since MR exit from laagi ..but still the memories are fresh and hurt too...ive been following daily soaps since so many years and was well familiar with all those plastic surgery tactics when changing the leads of he show and i know it changes the whole dynamics of the show but MR's exit was something else the consequence it had not only on the show but on me as a spectator too i can never forget it...was the show my obsession..the way we were called by the colors team..if it was i am still proud of my obsession...

What to say about mishal's employers the worst team ive ever seen ...and what can make you cringe even more is with a sincere and hardworking person like Mishal..i myself took acyive part in order to keep mishal in the show by posting on colors official page ...and they used to reply too...and those replies were clear indication something is not well on personal front... when they know we are their customers and by losing spectators they are surely having financial loss...but it was like somebody had made it his obsession rather to kill the show or more the character of dutta...

Followed by all that negative publicity given to mishal raheja...unprofessional?huh it was the bigesset joke...im so glad hisloyal fans never believed a single word ...what is the most worth mentioning thing here is Mishal's silence and the wonderful job he kept doing despite of the fact he knew he was bound to leave...im not much sure about any legal action regarding employment laws as mishal himself told his cintract was over when he left...and im so glad he left with his head held high...later the way show cllopased i think it must be enough for colors to know what they have done...just hate that channel !!!!

thank you for writing on this issue...miss laaagi tujhse lagan so much still :(

but have to agree with u on all that u said about mishal

Hi hammie Thank you for the two final clippings of Mishal. You have tried to decipher what it was for the actor to be in the situation he found himself. And Mishal being the gentleman he is, displayed exemplary restraint and let things take its own course. I can never forget how emotional he was in one of the interviews and expressed his helplesness. He was subjected to all pressure tactics that was at their disposal yet he refused to take the bait.
Hammie you are aware of my feelings towards these last episodes. It was the worst period as a viewer and since it was predecided his date of exit i didnt bother to check them on tv then or everafter. Only now on your thread that i decided to rest my hate for these final episodes. They bear no significance to me, im sorry to say. Everything is clouded with hate and disbelief. I mean look at the last moments of the 28th mar episode after Dutta is kidnapped i dunno how, it was laughable the entire treatment and then worse how within minutes naku the eternal devotee of Bappa not only loses her husband but also her sanity 😲. It was too much to digest, dunno to laugh or shout or shoot 😡😆
Even to this day i cannot forgive them for being so contemptous to the very audiences to whom they cater. I have only words of disgust to the way the channel treated the show as a whole. It was not just Mishal who was ill treated, they even butchered the show in its entirety by screwing the storyline, by introducing a non actor Aadesh/Digu the antogonist as the saviour, and overall for not having the decency in taking the audience to confidence nor apologising nor responding to their pleas.
OFcourse there are mechanisms in place to which one can take recourse to as an aggrieved artist but the way the industry functions it is impossible to survive to take on some of the big fish. There is this general apathy in the industry to take things for granted and flouting all rules of professionalism is routine. When the actors, technicians, staff, etc.. arent united and dont fight for their rights then they deserve to be illtreated and will continue to suffer.
But hammie please do continue this lovely thread and i await your take on some of the earlier episodes. Forgive me if i disappoint you.
