Salman Khan, Vidya Balan win COFFI Film Finance Awards 2012

COFFI Film Finance Awards are first of its kind Awards in India, instituted by Banknet Group and Six Sigma Films, to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema. An Award Ceremony followed by a Conference for India's First Film Finance awards, based on film business, was held on 18th December 2012 at a plush hotel of Mumbai recently, which was attended by senior film industry professionals and senior representatives of Films Division, Film Federation of India, Western India Film Producers' Association, Indian Film Exporters Association, NFDC & more.

Awards were finalized under the guidance of the eminent jury. Jury comprised of - Mr. Pahlaj Nihalani, Jury Chairperson; Mr. Ganesh Jain; Mr. Vashu Bhagnani; Mr. Govind Nihalani and Mr. N Chandra. Bollywood actor Jeetendra accepted awards for Most Bankable Production House, Most Profitable Film and also on behalf of Vidya Balan. Filmmaker Milan Luthria received his award for Most Bankable Director from Shri V. S. Kundu, Director General, Films Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. However, Salman Khan was not able to attend the awards ceremony as he was away for promotional events of his forthcoming film DABANGG 2 at various cities.

Winners of COFFI Short Films Contest 2012 were announced by the Jury of COFFI Shorts, which comprised of senior filmmakers - Mr. Tilak Raj Magan, Chairperson, Mr. Ramesh Tekwani, Mr. Kireet Khurana and Mr. Vincent Corda.

According to Mr Anurag Khanna, Chairman & MD, Banknet Group & Six Sigma Films, unlike other Film Awards, the selection was based mainly on the Financial Parameters like quantum of revenues and multiple returns. Movies released in the financial year April 1st, 2011 to March 31st, 2012 have been considered for this year awards.

COFFI Conference on Film Finance deliberated on Effective approaches to fundraising and new ways of crowd funding; ways to create marketing plans and distribution options to generate revenue; skills to sell/pitch your movie & much more.

Here's the list of Winners of 1st COFFI Film Finance Awards 2012:

• Most Bankable Male Actor - Salman Khan
• Most Bankable Female Actor - Vidya Balan
• Most Bankable Director- Milan Luthria
• Biggest Grosser of the year- BODYGUARD
• Most Profitable Film- THE DIRTY PICTURE
• Most Bankable Production House- Balaji Motion Pictures
