CHAPTER 16

Khushi and Rahul were in Anjali's room discussing on ways to bring Arnav back to his old self.

"Anji, Rahul, do you know something?"

"What?" Anjali asked

"Arnav hates Rahul...!!!"

"What???" Rahul was shocked

"Yes and he told me that yesterday"

"But why??" Anjali said

"Because he knows that you had a crush on me"

"Really??" Rahul was amazed

"Do you feel I'm joking?"

"Nope but sill I cant digest that fact" Rahul said back

"Even I was not able to believe him. I was really shocked when I heard him say that "

"That means my presence is affecting him right?"

"yup. That means bhai will be able to recover soon if you are around! Ok lets plan something"

"Khushi?? Anji???"

They heard Arnav calling out their names.

"Khushi I think we should go out. He should not see Rahul with us."

"Right Anji. Lets go out. Rahul you stay here"

"OK"

They both came out of the room.

"Arnav? What happened why are you shouting?"

"Shouting? I was looking for you both. Where did you disappear after the breakfast?"

"We were just chatting"

"Without me?"

"Oh come on"

"Ok then I'll also join you. Lets go to your room"

"NOOO"

"Why?"

"I mean Arnav lets go to our room"

"Ok"

They signalled Rahul to go after they left.

They reached their room and Khushi started arranging the room while the brother sister duo started talking about the old days. Arnav was almost Ok now except for the childish behaviour at times. The doctors had told her that he also would be fine very soon.

"Khushi do you remember our first meeting?"

"Why don't I Anji. You all had come to our place and I fought with you because you took my favourite doll. And Arnav, he hit me because I pulled your hair"

"Yeah those days we never thought that we would become so close that it would become impossible to survive without each other"

"Anji, you don't know what went through me when the accident took place and after you both"

"Leave it Khushi, lets talk about our happy moments. Leave those sad ones"

"Right Anji what will we get remembering that"

"Khushi lets play something" Arnav suggested.

"Play ? What sort?"

"Let me think" Anji said

"No Anji darling I'm not interested in your games" Arnav said and Khushi just agreed.

"Why not bhai? Oh and you Khushi just agreeing with your husband? And what more should I expect from you, You have always been on his side."

"Anji???"

"Ok ok we wont play lets just talk."

"Ok" Arnav said "As you wish my dear sis"

"Oh, now the brother sister duo is on the same side?"

"YES" Arnav and Anjali shouted at Khushi.

"Ok fine. Now Anji do you remember my eighth birthday?" Khushi winked at Anji and that went unnoticed by Arnav.

"Yeah I do we were enjoying a lot and then Rahul came na?"

"Yes and he hid my gifts which you both gave me"

"And I bashed him like hell" Arnav finally spoke up.

Khushi was now wondering whether Arnav was pretending that he has lost his mental stability ya whether he has actually lost it. He was sometimes behaving as if he is normal.

"And Khushi the next year he was here again and he apologised to us and then he pulled my hair on my birthday"

"Yes and I complained about him to his dad and got scolding myself from ma"

"Yeah because he was supposed to be the guest and we the host"

"Anji I often wonder , when we go somewhere to some friend's ya relative's place we are asked to behave properly because we are supposedly the guests and even when they come over to our place we need to behave properly because we are the host. Actually why is that so?"

"Even I wonder that Khushi. whatever , lets talk about our other birthdays"

"Yeah. You remember Anji"

"Hello girls I think you have completely lost it, I'm also a part of the conversation"

"I know Arnav but there is no chance of you remembering this one because we both hid it from you"

"What???"

"Khushi are you talking about my 14^th birthday?"

"Yeah"

"And what exactly happened that day?"

"Rahul.."

"Again him? I'm going to kill him"

"Bhai actually what is your problem? He is not as bad as you think"

"What?"

"Yeah he apologised to us that day for misbehaving in the previous years, he was about to talk to you too but again you had hit him before he would speak. And after that incident he has come here for the first time"

"He and apologised?"

"Yes bhai, then I realised that he is better than you , atleast he apologised unlike you who would never consent to do that"

"I need not apologise to anyone other than you 2 in my lifetime"

"Ok ok , but this time bhai I think we should include Rahul also with us"

"What? No way Anji"

"Why not bahi? Actually what is your problem in including him?"

"I don't like him and that is it"

"But why Arnav?"

"Khushi I have told you na? He had a crush on you."

"Arnav he had a crush on me, doesn't mean I had on him and now that doesn't even matter since I'm married to none other than you"

"But"

"No buts bhai we are inviting him for dinner tonight"

"Ok as you would have it."

"OMG"

"What happened Khushi?"

"I forgot, Arnav had an appointment with the doctor today"

"Oh no. Come on bhai lets go"

After half an hour they reached the hospital. Dr.Joshi examined Arnav.

"So Mrs. Raizada, tell me what all you have been doing at home to cure him?"

"What?"

"Actually Arnav is recovering very well. And soon he will be back"

"Really doctor?"

"Yes Miss Anjali. and you, you were just amazing, you regained your memory just with the first stage medications. You are really lucky with that"

"I know doctor and that is just because of Khushi. Without her it wouldn't have been possible"

"Yeah even I agree to that, she is so protective over you both. I understood it last week when you both were here"

Khushi remained a silent spectator to this conversation.

After a while Khushi and Anjali left the hospital along with Arnav. It was a tiring day for all of them. Khushi went to meet Rahul with Anjali after making sure that Arnav was resting in his room.

"Oh so you guys are back?"

"Yeah Rahul. " Khushi replied. Anjali was just staring at him.

"tell me what all happened today"

"actually we had a day just like the old times after a long time today. Doctor told that he was recovering very well and we will get our old Arnav back."

"Oh that means I will have to leave soon"

"NO there is nothing like that" Anjali said.

Khushi looked at Anjali and she just turned away.

Khushi's phone started ringing.

"Hey its Arnav. Be quiet"

"Hello" Arnav sounded irritated.

"hello Arnav"

"where the hell are you both Khushi?"

"Arnav, we are at my place. Why do you need something?"

"At your place? Why? Wait I'm coming there"

"No Arnav , you don't need to come here. I will be there in a second"

"Anji you stay here. I'll be back now"

"ok Khushi"

Khushi ran to RM. Anjali was excited to be left alone with Rahul.

Khushi reached RM.

"Khushi why did you both go without informing me?"

"Sorry Arnav, we thought you were taking rest and so. BTW why did you call?"

"Yeah, I called Aman and he told me that you had asked him to handle everything. Why Khushi?"

"Oh actually I wanted you to stay at home for a while after our marriage so I old him"

"Oh. Ok. Where is anji?'

"She is stiil there. She will be back soon. Lets go to our room. You stay there and I will get some tea for us. By the time she will also be back"

"Ok" Arnav said and went to their room.

There was silence for about ten minutes as both of them didn't have an idea on what to talk. They kept glancing at each other turning their heads in the other direction when they started noticing and smiling at each other once in a while.

"Anjali have you thought about your future?"

"What do you mean Rahul?"

"I mean about marriage and all?"

"Oh man, too direct? I never expected him to ask me this question so fast?" Anjali told herself.

"Hey I'm waiting for your answer"

"Yeah, actually I haven't"

"Then why don't we?"

"Pardon"

"You heard me right. I asked THEN WHY DON'T WE"

Anjali blushed

"I know you like me, and even I like you, in fact I LOVE YOU, i loved yo sice your 14^th birthday. You may be thinking that I had a crush on Khushi as Arnav too hinks, but I have always been in love with you since the day I apologised to you both."

Anjali was too shocked to respond.

"Are you kidding me?"

"Do I look as if I'm kidding you?"

"No"

"Then?"

"What?"

"Do you love me?"

Anjali remained silent for a while and then finally nodded.

"Oh I'm so happy today." He moved forward and hugged her. She reciprocated the hug.

"Anji? Rahul?" Khushi said shocked

Sorry dearies.

This is it. Now tell me how was it?

I'm tired now.

Hope this update was worth it.

And now keep guessing when Khushi had returned and what all she had seen. BTW was she alone or was Arnav along with her??
