| Interview : Parmita Katkar - Awaiting Good Response |
|
Excerpts from the Interview: I had heard that the people at Sultaan Productions were looking out for artistes for their new film. One fine day, I received a call from Imtiazji saying that he had seen my photograph and details on the internet and was interested in casting me in the film. He also told me that I would fit the character of Nisha to the hilt. Did you live up to his expectations? Yes, to me acting comes naturally. Whenever in doubt,I used to go up to Imtiazji. He would explain the scene in detail and that gave me confidence. This is the advantage of being an actor/director. Let me tell you one thing. After selection of the cast Imtiazji conducted a 2-3 weeks acting workshop, where he taught us to enact all sorts of emotional scenes. He worked very hard on us. How was Faraahji with you? Primarily, it was quite incredible for one to go in for newcomers for a banner that had made films with the biggest of stars. It was Faraahji's determination that she would be able to maintain the same kind of tempo with newcomers for her film. I can still remember when one moment she was extremely tense and the next she was extremely cool.
Though excited as this is my first major film, I'm taking it coolly.I only hope that the film does well for a lot of hard work has gone into its production. I for myself an awaiting good response. Any films that you are doing? The first project that I am doing is called Kacchi Sadak directed by Sanjay Singh which has a National Award nominee Rahul Singh opposite me. The second Thodi Masti Thodi Dhoom-a comedy that's based on Charlie's Angels is being directed by Vicky Ranawat. |
