Hey all! I am back with...a story? a recollection? a poem? I don't know what it is😆 I just wanted to write an OS in the form of a poem and so, I did!
A blissful life with its own highs and lows,
Looking back I realize from moments, life grows;
The smiles and the frowns-with you I found,
Thinking back, I tread the known, trodden ground….
The very first meeting, oh so random!
At a common friend's party, dancing in tandem,
Till that glass full of drink you spilled,
And hence, began our story-so against our will!
The next few meetings, the mutual annoyance we felt,
Ending up in the same college, what a joke had fate dealt!
The proposal during a ragging drill,
Something in your eyes made my heart melt;
And that was another new beginning,
As friends we started over again-fate was grinning!
The accidental meeting when you were breaking down,
Pulling down guards, a new bond was found.
The three years in college-the most memorable,
Took our relationship from bumpy to stable….
Three years…..
Of hugs and fests, of fights and tests,
Of breaking down to rise again,
Of turning each loss to our gain,
Of finding ourselves all over again,
Of learning to forget all our pain!
The alleged link-ups, all the teasing,
Living in denial, pushing away our feelings!
The insecurity and fear of losing each other causing a fit,
Till your buddy forced you to admit!
The perfect proposal-a real one this time around,
Sitting by me in the middle of college grounds,
The joy, the relief that I soaked in,
It was tough to keep away the huge grin!
The years of courtship-the eye-openers,
Bouncing off the lows, coming out stronger;
Moving to different cities, living our dreams,
Fighting hard to maintain our love's sheen.
The time when I almost lost you,
The few days when distances finally caught you,
The little time away almost killed me,
Till with your love, you again filled me.
Our mutual decision to not procrastinate,
Tying the knot, not being any more late!
The fairytale wedding that soon followed,
With you by my side, I just glowed!
Its been a year now, as Mrs. Geet Maan Singh Khurana,
Each day has been memorable, with lakhs others to follow,
Each moment with you, makes my heart swell with pride,
I am yours and you are my Maan for life!
