BOI reporting numbers till yesterday -
BOI revised numbers today (look at week 1) -
More besharmi and backtracking from BOI in the artcle - from claiming there was corp booking everyday, till a few days back, to now claiming only day 1 and how that will be less than 1 % of total collections. Essentially showing they know nothing and were throwing random numbers after day 1 when they were claiming corp booking. They even had to update the collections upwards now...but still agenda is such they want to presume that makers will do feeding in future to reach benchmarks but then again saying 99% collections are organic...the sheer clownery on display is historic and they have zero cred atp!!!!
"The figures of Dhurandhar have been updated and the film stands at around 276 crore nett after nine days and is on course for an easy 500 crore nett total and maybe even becomes the first original film in Hindi to hit 600 crore nett. The film is smashing all records in the second week and its likely this trend will continue into the third week even with the release of Avatar.
The collections are updated mainly due to what happened with the film initially with the buys and although it was known on Sunday that the film had worked and the figures need adjustment you just wait for the dust to settle and when it all becomes crystal clkear what has happened. The film did have a huge feed but it was mainly on the first day but it was very blatant as probably did in a hurry as they probably got very worried about that opening day. It looked like a Sky Force or Bhul Chuk Maaf type of feeding was happening which was not the case as the film itself started to the do the job and the makers stayed out after the first day though at that time its hard to believe due to the crazy stuff on the first day.
The film started on a bad note but such is the scenario now that its looking more organic than most of the other big original Hindi grossers. Gadar 2 and Animal are the clean ones and here with Dhurandhar it looks the adds are going to be 1% or maybe even less of the total colelctions which is nothing compared to the manufacturing of collections which goes on in various ways today.
The film has worked in a big way but the question within is always what is the merited collection and with Dhurandhar it looks 99% of it will be merited and its pretty much organic. Obviously there are still these fake media benchmarks to reach for the film be it 600, 700 and even the funniest of them all an 800 crore one so there could be some manufacturing for these but that does not change the scenario much.. "
