Bikhri Khwaishein, Bikhri Ranjishein - Epi 121

Srush OMG I am in lubb with the title😳.Not forgetting to mention my absolute obsession about the term ranjishein...😳This scene is still pretty much engraved in my mind for the sheer brilliance of YOUR DOP..😆and the powerhouse performance by Mansi👏.She without speaking a word clearly brought out the angst ,longing and her hearts desires..After all she was just another woman who had to step up on a high pedestal and take the burden of responsibility at a very young age due to the vagaries of adverse fortune.The scene and the title and the bikhri imlis reminds me of my all time fav ghazals of Mehndi hasan

Ranjish hi sahi dil hi dukhaane ke liye aa
(Let it be anguish, come still atleast to torment my heart)
aa phir se mujhe chhod ke jaane ke liye aa
(Come, even if to leave me again)

Gulaal's longing for that exclusivity with Kesar which made her forget her traumatic and empty life is brilliantly potrayed by Gulaal as she fondly stands in the front of the mirror looking longingly at those imlis.Brilliant expressions By Mansi.She looked like a woman so in love ,who had desires and that imli signifies the forbidden fruit of love ..Which no one else but only she had forbidden herself from relishing.

pehle se maraasim na sahi phir bhi kabhi to
(If not for our past association)
rasm-o-rahe duniya hi nibhaane ke liye aa
(Come to fulfill the rituals of the world)

It is absolutely fascinating that Gulaal never had even an iota of guilt or uneasiness in performing the rituals as Kesar's wife .Only when she became more and more aware of his feelings for her that she started withdrawing herself in a cocoon where she could cozily hide herself.

kis kis ko bataayenge judaai kaa sabab ham
(To whom all must I explain the reason of separation)
tu mujh se khafaa hai to zamaanay kay liye aa
(Come, despite your displeasure, atleast for the sake of the world)

Gulaal tried to pacify Kesar in so many ways but all that she got was harshness in return..But the imli brought back to her fond memories of Her Kesar and those imlis signified that Kesar in his heart still had feelings for her.Though she was blind to acknowledge it as the love of a man for his woman

ab tak dil-e-khush_feham ko tujh se hain ummeedain
(Till now, my heart suffers from some expectations from you)
ye aakhari shammain bhi bujhaane ke liye aa
(Come to snuff even these last candles of hope)

The scattering of the imlis is so symbolic .She had woven intricately a dream in the name of Vasant's sapna of getting Kesar and Talli married ..But the scattered imlis finally infuses in her the gravity and the implications of this new realtionship that was about to isolate her from Her Kesar..

ek umr se hun lazzat-e-giryaa se bhi mehruum
(Too long have I been deprived of the pathos of longing)
aye raahat-e-jaan mujh ko rulaane ke liye aa
(Come my love, if only to make me weep again)

She spent those 10 long years waiting for him to come back and share her pain..But the imlis scattered so clearly depicted her state of mind her hopes shattered and her dreams and desires scattered

@Srush: Amazing title yaar so apt for the episode and excellent post too, I was just discussing this point with Piyu yesterday that MB and PB though accepted her as daughter of the house never tried to instil in her futility of living in past they put her on high pedestal and worshipped her for the sacrifices she made for the family forgetting that she was a normal woman who had desires, wants and needs''MB did ask her na what she had planned for herself'..I wish he would have insisted on her settling her life too when she put forward alliance for Kesar and Talli'..that would have been so appropriate if she was really considered and accepted as daughter of the house'.

@Siree: I agree this DOP is just amazing to bring out every nuance of this fab acting by MP it was required perhaps to shoot some shots from lower angle to highlight the fact that even after trying to keep all memebers of the family united as the imlis were at the start of the scene her life will end up as scattered as each of the imlis on the ground as the pillars that holds this bunch together i.e. Kesar and Gulaal will not be same after this marriage'.

@Piyu: Main kya bolu yaar you said everything so beautifully, I really liked the ghazal it's so perfect to depict Gulaal's dilemma na'I for once am not going to say anything and just applaud 👏for this brilliant writing'amazing'.
