PART 9

Inside the room, Doctor asked Geet to sit. He started to ask her questions, rather getting her to talk.

"Geet, have you been treated before?"

"Yes, while I was in doing my graduation. It was because of stress and it was only for 3 days."

"I understand. You take anti-depressants. It means…"

Geet interrupted him and said, "You think I am making this up."

"Your father left you. Your mother died a few months ago, in fact in the hospital only and you don't like hospitals that much, am I right?"

"Yes."

"Maybe in your sub-conscious mind, you have started to believe that he was there all the time."

"No. It is real. He was here. It is real. He is here. He is somewhere in this hospital. We are wasting our time here."

"Geet…."

Geet gets up from the chair and moves towards the window in the doctor's room. She says, "Can I have a moment alone?"

"Take all the time you need. We are here. I will go and bring a coffee for you."

The doctor goes out the room. Geet is looking at the city from the window and remembering her time with Dev.

~~~~~~~~~~~~FLASHBACK~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She was sitting in a coffee shop. It was just few days after her mom died.

She was all alone and depressed.

He just came there with a flower in his hand and said, "Seems like this flower is in need of a smile."

She looked at him shocked and angry and said, "Why would flower need to smile? They will die as soon as their smile fades."

He sat in front of her and said, "But the moment it smiles, the whole world comes to a stand still to see its smile."

She gets annoyed and gets up to leave.

He says, "Running away from the problem will never solve it."

She stopped in her track and looked at him.

He just smiled and said, "Hi I am Dev."

That moment changed her life. She became alive once again. When she lost all hope, he was the one who made her believe.

She comes out of her memories, looks to see if anyone is there and runs out of the room.

Dr. Ganguly enters the room with coffee in his hand and says, "Geet I hope you….."

He looks up and sees that she is gone. He immediately calls security and says, "She is gone."

All of them become alert. Maan is also looking for her.

As he passes from a room, he sees someone sitting there. He goes back and sees Geet sitting on a chair all cuddled up.

Maan came inside and said, "Want some company?"

Geet looked at him all teary eyed. She did not know what to say. She just kept quite, listening to him.

Maan understood and said, "I was just here for a check up. Doctor says I need to take it easy. You know I was an army officer, but not anymore."

Geet looked at him, all shocked and confused.

"Sameera always hated me being in the army as I was always away from her. I was not there when she needed me. Maybe she was right. The last thing I remember before I left was watching my unit die in front of me; we were in an insurgent operation in Kashmir. I watched my best friend die. Now I am in Delhi police, to be precise kind of a desk job. But still I lost her. I understand what you are going through."

Geet looked at him, and finally said, "Can you tell the doctor that he can do what he wants?"

After saying this she walks out of there.

He is not able to see Geet in that condition. He looks down and lets her go out. He sees that a book is there. He thinks that it belongs to Geet and picks it up.

Maan along with Naintara and Kartar are standing in front of Dr. Ganguly. The doctor starts to speak, "She is in midst of an emotional breakdown. She is emotionally lost. She believes it is real. I want to put her under observation. Mental illness is possible."

Geet on the other hand is still walking. She once again goes towards the room where she saw Dev last. She enters the room, looking at everything. The bed where he sat and smiled, when she entered; the kiss they shared. When she sat beside him…she is thinking of all the moments.

Her eyes fall on the dustbin. She sees something is in it. She goes near it and sees a coffee cover. It was the same one. It was the cover of Dev's coffee which he was drinking from.

PART 10

On the other hand, everyone was trying to find Geet. Apparently after meeting Maan, she did not go to the Doctor and has been missing.

Kartar calls Satish in the CCTV footage room.

Kartar says, "Look for Ms. Geet Handa. Find her."

Satish starts to look at all the camera footages trying to find her. He finally says, "I see her in the hallway. I am following her."

Kartar starts to go in the direction in which Satish says. He says, "I am going there."

Satish then says, "She is going towards the back. Sir, there are limited cameras in that area."

Here Kartar says, "I am following her. Do not lose her."

Here Geet goes inside a room and sees some hospital clothes lying there. She immediately changes her clothes and hides.

On the other side, Naintara is also tensed as Geet ran from there. She asks Dr. Ganguly about Geet.

She asks, "Doctor what do you think?"

Dr. Ganguly answers, "I think maybe it is paranoia. If pushed, we can't say what she will do."

Here Karatar is shouting at Satish to find her.

Satish replies, "I can't find her. Wait. I see her. She is wearing blue dress and is going towards the parking area."

Kartar listens and starts to go there.

Here Geet realizes that someone is following her. She once again enters a room and hides under one of the bed.

As she is sitting there, her mobile rings. She picks it up without looking at the caller.

The caller on the other line says, "Geet, it's me, Dev."

"Oh my God Dev."

"Geet, where are you?"

"Somewhere in the hospital," she then starts to look at her surroundings to find where she is, "Dev, what happened?"

Dev just said, "Don't trust anyone."

"Where are you?"

"I am in a bathroom," his voice is trembling, "where are you?"

Geet looks ti find where she is, and then sees dead body's hand which is falling from one of the beds. "I think I am in a morgue."

Before she could say anything further, she hears Dev's voice, "No…no….please leave me…..please leave me alone."

Geet gets scared and starts to say, "Dev…..Dev…..," but there is no reply. Tears starts to come from her eyes.

Kartar then opens the doors and starts to say, "Ms. Geet, are you in here?"'

He looks around the room, but sees no one there, he goes away.

Geet sat there with her hands on her mouth so that he wouldn't be able to hear her.

After Kartar goes out, Geet comes out of hiding.

She comes out of the room and again starts looking in the hospital.

Here in the security room, Satish spots her and says to Kartar, "Sir I see her."

Kartar also spots her and run after her calling her to stop. She sees Kartar running after her; she starts to run more fast. She reaches towards a door; and in a hurry to be out of his sight pushes it opens. Kartar sees her entering the parking garage. He starts to shout to stop her from going towards that area, but it is too later.

He runs after her in a fast speed. Geet starts to run towards the parking area. As soon as she opens the door, she looks backward to see if Kartar is following her. In all this she is unable to see a car coming; and the driver not able to turn hits her.

Geet is being carried on the stretcher with nurses running by the side. She is being taken in the emergency ward.

She remembers all the time spent with Dev, their first meeting, their first date, their time spent on the beach. The way he was always there for her. The time when she last saw him today while leaving the room, his smile, his everything. She can no longer take it and closes her eyes.
