Kareena Kapoor faces her toughest case yet in Daayra trailer; Prithviraj adds to the mystery

The much-awaited trailer of Daayra is finally here, setting the stage for a tense crime thriller that refuses to offer easy answers. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, the film brings together Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran as two senior police officers caught on opposite sides of a complex investigation. Produced by Junglee Pictures and Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios, Daayra is scheduled to release in theatres on September 18, 2026.

A Crime Case That Keeps Changing

Inspired by true events, Daayra begins in the aftermath of a crime that triggers anger and intense public attention. The incident sets two investigations into motion, with the search for the truth becoming increasingly complicated as fresh information comes to light.

Rather than presenting a straightforward battle between right and wrong, the trailer places viewers inside a world where facts, public opinion and personal beliefs constantly collide. Kareena, Prithviraj Bring Two Different Views of Justice

Kareena Kapoor Khan plays DCP Ajooni Kohli, while Prithviraj Sukumaran steps into the role of DCP Raman Kumar. Both officers are investigating the same case, but their understanding of duty and justice appears to take them in very different directions.
