Hi Everyone!
It's been a while since I've been around, and some of you may know me, but for those who don't, I'm Naina :)
Anyways. I kinda just sat and caught up with about 2 months worth of episodes in this show, and I LOVE it.
And so this is just a mini blurb on my thoughts after watching.
Aditya Priya: Theirs is pretty much the only track I'm not really really satisfied with, but it seems to be heading somewhere now. Where? I have no idea. Priya in general though, puting those thoughts into Aditya's head about the second marriage, etc. Amazing. Love it.
This new Roshni-Devi Aditya track will prove to be interesting, the mother wanting to get revenge. Seeing that different side of RD when she was talking to Devyani definitely made me view her differently, she does care about her son and his happiness, and the fact that she was ready to accept Karan being gay, and his and Gaurav's relationship definitely made me appreciate her. The getting revenge, not so much, but it's pretty natural for the mother to try to do whatever she can to kind of ruin people who hurt her children.
Gaurav-Vidya-Karan: I really really like this track, mainly because it seems to depict reality in a way. Gaurav braking up with Karan, being really depressed, but trying to make the best of the situation. Vidya sticking it out with the Jhaakars, and trying to support Gaurav, even though he's kinda being stubborn in his own way at the moment. The Vidya Chinnu plan from yesterday was definitely interesting, too bad not much happened except poor Vidya being told not to interfere again. Chinnu in this track, I don't know if I really like the Vidya Chinnu angle. Yes, I definitely want her to move on and create a new life for herself, but I can't, for some reason, see Vidya with Chinnu. But maybe that will change as time goes on 😕
Finally. My favorite track ever.
The Devyani-SSP-Uttara one. I am freaking loving every moment of this track, no matter how disgusting it seems, no matter how out there or whatever. This track has definitely struck a chord with me, and it just seems so realistic. Uttara's character was really really well etched. Her slow kinda moving towards SSP, falling for his bulls***. Then actually progressing to the relationship, ignoring her sister's plight, ignoring the fact that she's having an affair with her sister's husband. And now, stubbornly refusing to see the truth, accept reality, even when Devyani herself goes to talk to her. That to me is realistic. Where someone is so lost in their world, has such conviction that whatever they're doing is correct, that they refuse to accept anything else, anyone else. SSP is his usual cruddy self. However, I definitely enjoyed the few days he was sick and Devyani wasn't there to help him so he got annoyed. But Devyani. She definitely stands out as a star. Her progression and growth as a character from the beginning is very impressive. In the beginning of the show, for months on end, I used to curse her out for being so passive, and living in her own bubble. But the way she now stands up to SSP, the way she's dealing with his crap is great. Yes, Priya has definitely helped her and I like that she's actually listening now.
I'm looking forward to how SSP deals with the second marriage stuff, and what will end up happening for the SSP-Devyani relationship. As much as I want her to divorce him and move on, I don't think there's a real shot of that happening with this show. But I have no faith that SSP would ever realize his mistakes and would plead for forgiveness. Actually, even if he did, I don't think Devyani should accept him back.
