Part 30
The soft gentle light of the morning sun filtered through the soft white sheers. Only the sound of the soft humming of the air conditioning echoing in the room... The room looked like a little storm had passed it... clothes strewn all over... in a trail as it ended near the huge bed.
He stirred and then groaned as his head pounded. he frowned even before he could open his eyes. His body strangely sluggish as he was usually an alert person even in deep sleep and could awaken at the drop of a hat. Trained professionally, though today is a different story altogether... Shantanu opened one eye slowly as even the gentle light seemed to be harsh as he closed it back again to softly groan and moved only to freeze... as he felt a soft warmth at his side, tucked into his chest... the fragrance altogether familiar.
His body instantly giving out the signals of their own of the inviting presence as his brains froze in horror... trying to rationally think of which at the moment was incapable of... rational thought be damned as he felt her snuggle even more closer to his chest... as he closed his eyes and in spite of his rationale jerking him, his body responded to her presence, her fragrance... as he dared to open his eyes and glanced down to see her sprawled beautifully against his chest... her hair splaying the vast expanse... as one soft palm lay against his thudding heart, upon which rested her soft cheek...
He closed his eyes shut tightly not wanting to think of what had transpired last night... though everything this morning screamed telling its own tale... One of his arms was trapped under her and the other rose to his head to rake the already sleep tousled hair as he bit hard on his lip... 'God trust you SK to have done what you should not have!!' As flashes of memory came now even more stronger... and more clearer with every passing second.
Shantanu closed his arms around her as she danced blissfully unawares of the storms that she was raking up inside his body. The evening, her happy disposition, her satisfaction lending a certain heady and intoxicating pleasure to him had him down a couple of neat shots. Along with the strong control that he had leashed all this time too was being strained now with her glowing eyes and close proximity. Making him down a few more drinks.
Which led to his rationale suffering a huge set back and here they were in bed... in his apartment in Cuffe Parade... with her wrapped around him like beautiful soft satin... Slowly he moved and with his free hand he moved her soft feather like weight off his chest... gently placing her head at the pillow as she mumbled her protest sleepily... as he stilled not wanting to wake her as he was not ready to face her yet... he had one hell of a hangover to add to this new dilemma now... He needed to think clearly first and slid out of the bed to enter the washroom...
She stirred slowly feeling the cool sheets as she semi consciously frowned her displeasure. The assuring thump of his heart was missing and she nudged her arm out as if searching along side and when she met the empty bed, she opened her eyes slowly to look with a worried expression but the running of the shower brought back the smile in her eyes.. as they twinkled like two diamonds... shining with the memory of what passed last night...
Her face suffused in a pink colour to match the soft pink saree that lay on the floor in a careless heap, where he had finally managed to undrape after a little tug of war... only to be joined by his jacket... his shirt hanging on his shoulder the buttons having been forced apart by her urgent fingers... as she ran those very fingers over the soft matting at the broad expanse there... she had sighed as he had buried his head in the spot which he adored... her neck...
She blushed even a more darker pink as she remembered... and dove under the covers as she bit her lip and sighed out in a soft voice .. "I love you Doc.." They had made love... after such a long gap and she felt just like she did the first time over, in this very place where she had totally belonged to him... making her feel complete... all over again... Flushing she rose and grabbed something to wear which happened to be his shirt and donning it... padded towards the adjoining guest bedroom where she freshened up. Finding a new tooth brush and toothpaste in the cabinet she finished her morning routine to trot in the direction of the kitchen dressed only in his shirt...
On the way she first stood at the French windows looking at the calm sea in the morning as she saw a few birds flying in the distance... hugging her arms around her self. she felt his fragrance envelope her once again, which came from the shirt, which she clung to even more as if it was him she was hugging... She smiled shyly shaking her head and trotted to the kitchen to make a strong cuppa... she knew he would definitely need one...
He raked his wet hair in the shower again as he let the cold water rush down his head... he closed his eyes for the umpteenth time to open them again as memory of last night increased the racing of his heart.. Even if it had not been the right thing to do, the memory of their love making increasing his love, his desire, his very need for her... He groaned and glared at the cold water cascading out of the shower, of no help at all. He turned it off and grabbing the huge towel rubbed himself dry and then donning the terry robe carefully came out only to stall on finding the bed empty...
He heard some noise in the kitchen and realised that she must have been up and around. Trying not to look at their clothes which were strewn all over the floor, he gulped hard and walked to the huge windows to try and think of what he would speak to her... He exasperatedly thought, how does a husband tell his beloved wife that it was not right to have made love...
She sauntered in softly and smiled as she put the laden tray on the coffee table and padded up to him, slowly sliding her arms around his middle as she felt him still... she rested her head on his back at his shoulder and murmured softly... "Good morning Doc.. coffee?" planting a soft kiss there... He closed his eyes for a second and then his arms rose of their own volition to cover hers and he spoke a husky "Good Morning Jingles..." Deciding in a flash of moments that he would not let her know of the angst that he suffered... and turned to face her and his breath left out in a sharp rasp... "Oh God Jingles" seeing her dressed only in his shirt... She blushed even more and hid her face in his chest as her hands did their favourite thing playing with the silk exposed by the towelling robe... He fought for more control as the pounding inside his head increased.
She sensed it and frowning leaned back and asked.. "Headache" Trying to whisper.. as he nodded closing his eyes... and she smiled and murmured.. gently caressing his forehead, pushing the errant damp lock back..."Come.. I have the right remedy Doc..." Her eyes spoke what her heart felt and he smiled and then leaned forward to kiss her as he simply could not resist it... both were soon leaning against each other their foreheads touching, arms around each other, as she gasped and lowered her eyes away from the blaze in his eyes as he mentally shook himself..
'God SK you gone nuts or what?' She bit her lip and murmured softly as he was about to let her go... "Doc.. last.. last night.. I.." He did not want another reminder so he raised his finger and cut her.. and then groaned as she bit his finger and he reprimanded her hoarsely.. "Woman.. I need that coffee..." Not wanting to get out of this Heaven, but had to for the sake of their own sanity...
She sipped her coffee daintily as he grimaced at the taste of black sweetened coffee.. she knew how he hated this dark brew.. but inspected him through her lashes as they sat at the small coffee table.. feeling replete... Last night had more than shown her his love and adulance for her.. more than words could ever describe... she blushed again guiltily looking into her almost empty coffee mug when his cell buzzed and he groaned feeling that it was too loud as she giggled rising to go for her shower... He barked a soft "Dr. Khandelwal..."
He smiled squeezing his eyes shut as pain again shot through his temples, but murmured softly... "Hey Beautiful... I thought I texted you that if we are late we will come to the apartment..." She bit her lip as she cleared the mess made by the clothes avoiding looking at him but still remembering their beautiful time last night... He spoke for a bit and then called off as his pager buzzed and he frowned as he was not expecting it to since he was off for a couple of days...

She towelled her hair dry and tied it up in the same towel and walked out wearing the black saree blouse and sari skirt... He was nowhere to be found in the bedroom and she breathed in deeply as she sat at the dresser to wear her jewellery... when he entered wearing a crisp sky blue half sleeved shirt and dark navy trousers... her heart stopped as did her hand which was mid way in wearing the bracelet. His feet too stalled as he saw her dressed in what ever scraps she was wearing...
He slowly walked to her and she dropped her lashes to hide behind the soft blush as he sat down at the dresser behind her and leaned his smooth shaven jaw at her shoulder and murmured... "Ready to strike again... Have some mercy Jingles.. how many times will you Ki..." She raised her hand to cup over his mouth to stop him... chiding with her eyes and he smiled and hugged her even more closer... his brains yelling at him to maintain more distance yet he could not resist listening to his heart's commands... but she sensed the dual and asked with her eyes... 'Something is bothering you...'
His eyes smiled into hers.. and he rose to remove the small silver dibbi and she smiled as she waited and he took the pinch of sindoor and applied it to her forehead filling her maang.. as usual a little powder dusted onto her nose and she took in a deep satisfying breath as he sighed only for the door bell to ring.. She frowned as they were not expecting anyone when he spoke in a husky voice... belying the leash that he had restrained over himself... "I had ordered some newspapers from the security.. it must be them..."
She nodded and he went out as she rose and draped her saree...Surveying herself in the mirror a pensive expression flitted onto her face as she saw a small frown appearing.. and then she took in a deep breath and murmured... "Not for long Doc, I will find out what is bothering you.." She smiled with an intent in her eyes and heard him call out to her.. "Jingles lets leave... Daadi is waiting for us..." She replied.. "Yes be right out Doc..."
