Story Premise

What begins as professional rivalry slowly turns into friendship, attraction and eventually love.

FADE IN.

The first rays of sunlight enter through the windows of an old but beautiful Punjabi household.

The sound of temple bells mixes with the aroma of freshly prepared tea.

A young woman walks through the corridor carrying a tray.

Simple cotton salwar suit. Hair neatly tied. No unnecessary makeup. A small smile on her face.

This is KASTURI CHAWLA.

She stops outside her grandparents' room.

KASTURI

Bauji... Beegi... tea is ready.

From inside—

BEEGI

Kasturi, beta, you're awake already?

Kasturi smiles.

KASTURI

You know me, Beegi. If the sun can wake up early, why can't I?

Beegi laughs.

BEEGI

Come here, my child.

Kasturi enters and touches their feet.

Kasturi smiles warmly.

The camera slowly moves around the house.

Kasturi quietly steals a piece of paratha.

Kaushalya catches her.

The entire family is gathered for breakfast.

Everyone laughs.

Kasturi turns.

GIRL

Kasturi smiles.

GIRL

Kasturi holds out her little finger.

They hook fingers.

Kasturi continues walking.

She turns back once.

The little girl waves.

Kasturi waves back.

SCENE 6 — BUS STOP

Kasturi waits for her bus.

Her phone rings.

It's Tannu.

KASTURI

Yes?

TANNU

You forgot your lunch.

Kasturi checks her bag.

KASTURI

Oh no!

TANNU

Exactly.

KASTURI

What would I do without you?

TANNU

Starve.

Kasturi laughs.

The bus arrives.

KASTURI

Okay, I'll call you later.

She gets on.

As the bus moves, Kasturi looks through the window.

Her expression changes slightly.

She is thoughtful.

She is surprised.
