Manish Goel, who was seen in Sony's Adaalat last week, has been chosen to be the showstopper of designer Uzair Parvez's collection at the upcoming Bangalore Fashion Week. The event will be held from July 28-31, 2011.
Speaking about the same, Manish says, "The well-known choreographer Achla Sachdev gave me my debut fashion show where I walked the ramp for students of NIFT graduates on July 9, this year. The show was held in Indore and I had 10 sequences in 10 different outfits and some 90 crazy poses. They say models can't act and I accepted this offer because I wanted to see if actors can model. At first, I thought it would be a cakewalk but walking the ramp in front of an audience of about ten thousand people is not easy. To top it, I was walking with known model Sahil Shroff and some ex-Miss Indias. Achla put me at ease and assured me that I had done a good job. Uzair was sitting in the audience during that show and later approached me to walk for him at the Bangalore Fashion Week as the showstopper. This is a big platform and I was in two minds since I don't have much knowledge about fashion but Achla coaxed me to go for it. I am glad Uzair selected me and am all set to leave for Bangalore tomorrow."
When asked if he is open to more offers as a model, Manish reveals that he has already bagged yet another show. The actor discloses, "I will be doing another show for Delhi based designer Monica Kapur at the Indian jewelry Fashion Week. The show is being held at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai and I must admit I am a little nervous because in other cities people are in awe of actors and focus on them but in Mumbai, people pay more attention to your walk and style."
Besides the modeling offers that are pouring in, Manish has another reason to smile as the actor has been receiving loads of compliments for his performance in Adaalat. Manish claims, "Post Mahayatra which was a reality show, I did not get any offers that excited me as an actor. I had been approached for an episode of Adaalat a month ago, but I did not find the role to be good and asked them to approach me when they have something challenging to offer. Incidentally even the episode this time was called Challenger," laughs Manish.
"My role in the episode was kickass and I have been getting great reviews for it. I feel lucky to be selected for such and intense role and I totally enjoyed being a part of the episode. I am a positive person and am looking forward to more such interesting roles in the future."
We wish Manish good luck for his upcoming shows and hope to see him back on the small screen soon.
