Chapter Twenty Seven.

Unveiling of the Bride!

They approached the hall stepping out of the corridor that adjoins the large room. The moment mesmerized the spectator; the drop of the pin would sound louder if dropped. The duet paused for a moment accepting the unsaid compliment and acknowledging the pride they felt for each other as a life companion. Relatives complimented to Savitri Devi for finding such a beauty for her Grandson.

Dadima made them sit on the loveseat set in the center.

Dadima did the shagun on mooh dikhai "Unvieling of the Bride". Dadima adorn her with the ancestry Kangans

that were given to her from her MIL, and was passed on to Maan's mother now is passed on to Geet since Maan's mother was not alive Dadima presented her on behalf of her. Dadima presented a necklace set from her and some cash as a blessing.

The other relatives and family friends continued and ended the ceremony following the same rituals of blessing her with gifts. Guests were not tiered praising the couple and more of the bride. Geet was drowning into the puddle of self-consciousness. She felt her cheeks burning every second with the rush of blood with the compliments of her beauty. Maan notices her uneasiness, he knew her well, and she was not the recipient of the compliments when it comes to her beauty. He wanted to do something so that all these women can leave her alone. He started to scan the room around and rested his eyes on his group that was lazily having their good time in the corner themselves and they were stuck in between the bunch of oldies.

He stopped the by passer and asked the person to get the people in the corner to look at him. The person obediently took the message, went up to the people, and passed on the message, the moment the person conveyed the message Agustiya turned to look up where the newly wedded seated. Maan gestured to rescue them.

Agustiya turned to his gang and discussed the matter on hand. Looking at them, Maan narrowed his eyes as if he will be able to hear them. Before he could figure out, light went dim. The hall went silent upon noticing the change in the surroundings. Next, he heard low music and all off a sudden it got loud and a voice that begun to sing.

Ishq ne mere yeh kaisa kaam kar diya
Mera aashiqon mein uncha naam kar diya

The light focused on a figure, as the body turned it was Agustiya. Maan's face lit up and he mouthed Thank you as he winked at him and continued with the song. In few seconds, the youngsters gathered around took position to gel in the song and start shaking their legs.

Agustiya took position himself and continued with the song taking dancing bhangra steps'

He closes in to Maan'.

He looks at Geet, who astonished by the change of the surrounding looking at her Jiju singing and dancing. She picks up the words and the gestures of him relate to them and look at the side to see Maan who had cheerful smile. She couldn't hold herself but smile herself and looks away.

Adi picked up the line next coming by the side of Geet, she laughs a bit to see Adi singing. He winks at her.

Adi goes to the side next to Agustiya and both sing along.

The group chorused in

Ayanna joined in along with Pinki coming to them and pointing the couple .

Pinki picked up the next phrase.

Agustiya pulls Ayanna and teases her'

She makes face to fake annoyance, he pulls her and points to her chin as she follows the finger he pulls right up to touch her nose'Maan and Geet Laughs. Dadima enjoys seeing her grandchildren smile. She takes both her hands and gesture in the air in a circular motion to go over both of them, so that the fingers curl into the palm, and then brings both of her curled hands to side of her temples, and cracks her fingers. A gesture, that remarks to keep them away from all the evil eyes.

Adi corners Pinki and joins Agustiya to sing along

Pinki pushes Adi by his shoulders and continues singing'

Ayanna circles Agustiya to sing the next lines both ladies comes forward and pull Geet to the center and nudges her to sing'Geet shyly carry forwards the lines, bringing her head from bowing to look up Maan.

Arrey haan, tu hi jaane kaise main toh teri ho gayi

She goes around, stands behind Dadima, and crooks her head to see her husband.

She puts her head on Dadima's shoulder

All come together in the center to sing the chorus.

Maan gets up in a spoof singing his lines and comes to where her two favourite ladies stood.

He goes behind them and hugs them both from the back'

He backs up, they both turn to see him, and he takes a turn around and pulls Geet to him and she land right at the spot where she belongs to, close to his heart looking at him in amusement with his pranks. He continues to take steps along with her as he forms the words of his feelings.

Crunching his nose with last 3 words teasing her more, as the song comes to its conclusion all hands join in, do the bhangra, and concludes the song'

It turned out to be the most inglorious moment one would have enjoyed. Maan hugged his friends and they laughed heartedly. Guest started to scatter and left behind were very close ones for the next fun part where the couples are involved. All settled down to take the breather after the rush of excitement.

Geet suddenly noticed her hands adorn with Mehandi, her hands were dark as coal. She smiled, at the comment made by her aunt when they must have noticed the way it turned out dark, "Hay ni mai mar jawan Geet teri mehandi da rang kinna ghera hai. Is ka mutlab to ei hoya ke tera gharwala tujse bohot pyaar kare ga." Less she knew then who was her Dulha and didn't pay any attention to the details of her mehandi. She brought her hands closer to her eyesight as to find something. Maan kept his eyes on her all the while, noticed she was intrigued with her hands, he figured she was admiring her stained hands. Her smile intrigued him and wanted to know what the reason behind it is was. He leans to her and asked her softly, "Geet, what is so funny in your Mehandi that you are smiling?"

First startled, Geet then composed her and thought to test him a bit. She brings her hands closer to his sight to show her hands, she shyly disclosed the secret that how she did not paid any attention to her own mehandi when it was applied. Maan raised his brows with that delicate information and asked her, "Then tell me what is it that you are looking so keenly as if searching something?" Geet, felt as if she was caught stealing the cookie from the jar. She fumble to speak, "Wo'wo main'haa Maan kuch nahi mai mehandi ka rang dekh rahi thi bas." She looks away from his darted glare. Maan knew she was hiding something, and decided to check it out himself. Before she withdraws her hand, Maan reach over and pulls her hands to his clear view. Geet was not prepared that this will come; she gasps at his action and tries to pull back. Maan grips it tightly she has no choice but let it go.

She relaxes and shies, Maan smiled at her tactics and he started to check out the design. She thought to pull his legs and asked, "Maan do you know what you are looking?" He didn't look up and made a sound, "Humm, what ever it is I'll find it." She chuckles softly, now he was sure there is definitely something that possibly hidden in this thick design and definitely Geet does not know that it was the fact he figured. He saw something that looked as alphabet, he scanned back to the spot where he thought he saw something like M but it was well curved that it would not be recognized easily. He gave his side-looped smile before he reach to the exact spot he heard someone. He looks up to check the moment he looks away he felt the hands slid away in speed. He did not try again but before he turned away he mentally notes the spot to locate again. He let the rest of the thoughts linger in his own world.

"So what's next Dadima?" Someone asked. Dadima replied with a cheesy smile, "It's kheer chattai time!
