Himanshi Khurana DELETES ‘storm in a teacup’ post amid religion row linked to Asim Riaz

Punjabi actress and Bigg Boss 13 contestant Himanshi Khurana has reacted to the online discussion around her recent remarks about religion and her former relationship with Asim Riaz. Addressing the reactions on Instagram, Himanshi described the debate as a “storm in a teacup” and said she was only sharing a personal experience. She has since deleted the Instagram story.

On Sunday, August 16, Himanshi shared a note on her Instagram story after her podcast comments sparked discussion online. She wrote, "Media making a huge public debate over minor discussion of my life experience in podcast without saying bad about anyone, that's total storm in a teacup. Chalo koi ni carry on." The story was later deleted from her Instagram account.

Her response came after parts of her conversation on Paras Chhabra’s podcast circulated online, particularly her comments about religion during her relationship with Asim.

During the podcast, Himanshi was asked about reports that she had considered converting to another religion while dating Asim. She clarified that she would not call the situation conversion. "Conversion nahi bolungi, par woh apne religion ki achhi baatein bata rahe the, sab bata rahe the. Achhi baat hai," she said.

Himanshi explained that the person she was referring to wanted her to understand and accept the positive aspects of his religion. However, she said she was not comfortable accepting the idea. "Woh chahte the ki main achha samajhkar accept karu, lekin mujhe manzoor nahi tha," she added.

Although Himanshi did not directly name Asim during the discussion, her comments were linked to their past relationship. While discussing the experience, Himanshi said she had felt conflicted about her own faith at the time. She recalled thinking that accepting another belief could make her feel as though she was going against her faith. "Aisa feel hua ki main apne Bhagwan ko dhokha de rahi hoon," she said.

She also recalled wanting to visit the Chaar Dham and complete her temple visits before making any major decision. She described the emotions surrounding that period as feeling similar to saying goodbye.

Himanshi and Asim’s relationship

Himanshi and Asim met during Bigg Boss 13, where their relationship developed on the reality show. Himanshi had entered as a wild card contestant and was engaged to her then boyfriend, Chow.

The two continued their relationship after leaving the show and remained together for around four years. In 2023, they announced their separation, citing different religious beliefs as the reason for their breakup.

Himanshi’s deleted Instagram story came as the discussion around her podcast remarks gained attention online. While she has removed the story, her comments from the podcast continue to be discussed in the context of her past relationship with Asim.
