Rudraksh sat beneath a tree, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Preesha quietly walked up behind him and placed her hands on his shoulders.

He turned his head and smiled at her.

Rudraksh: You always find me wherever I go.

Preesha smiled.

Preesha: Because my heart always knows where you are.

He laughed softly.

Rudraksh: So, I can never hide from you?

Preesha shook her head.

Preesha: Never.

For a moment, they simply looked into each other's eyes.

Rudraksh placed his hand over hers.

Rudraksh: Life became beautiful the day you came into it.

Preesha smiled.

Preesha: And my world became complete the day I found you.

They smiled at each other.

They sat together in a boat during sunset.

Preesha: Humans really enjoy travelling.

Rudraksh: Especially when they are travelling with someone they love.

They looked at each other romantically.

Rudraksh gave flowers to Preesha and said:My pretty Mermaid..This is for you.

They smiled happily at each other.

One evening under sparkling lights...

Rudraksh knelt before her.

Preesha: Rudraksh... what are you doing?

He held out a ring.

Rudraksh: Preesha, you saved my life.

Preesha: You saved mine too.

Rudraksh: You left an entire world behind for me.

Preesha: Because you are my world.

Rudraksh: Then let me be yours forever.

He opened the ring box.

Preesha's eyes filled with tears.

He smiled and slipped the ring onto her finger.

The moon shone brightly over the garden, filling the night with silver light. The swing was decorated with fragrant flowers. Tiny fairy lights twinkled around it.

Preesha sat beside Rudraksh on the beautifully decorated swing.Rudraksh smiled.

Rudraksh: Mrs. Rudraksh... you are very quiet tonight.

Preesha smiled.

Preesha: I'm still trying to believe this is real.

He held her hand.

Rudraksh: It's real. You are my wife now, and I will spend my whole life making you smile.

A blush spread across Preesha's face.

Preesha: And I will always stand by your side, no matter what.

Rudraksh: Do you remember the day we first met by the sea?

Preesha: I was hiding from you behind a rock.

Preesha: I never imagined that the human I was secretly watching would become my husband.

He smiled.

They both looked up at the full moon.

Preesha: And tonight, it begins again... as husband and wife.

They stood on the same beach where they first met.

The moon reflected across the water.

Rudraksh: Do you miss the ocean?

Preesha looked at the waves.

Preesha: Sometimes.

Rudraksh: Then why are you smiling?

She looked at him deeply.

Preesha: Because every time I look at the sea, it reminds me of the day I found you.

Rudraksh: And every time I look at the sea, it reminds me of the mermaid who stole my heart.

Preesha smiled.

Preesha: I stole your heart.Because you stole mine first.

They shared a romantic eye lock.

The moon hung high in the night sky, its silver light illuminating the balcony overlooking the sea.

Preesha stood quietly beside the railing, dressed in a beautiful white saree adorned with red flowers.Rudraksh stood closer to her in a cream kurta.

For a few moments they stood silently under the moonlight.

The distant sound of waves reached her ears.

Preesha: I can still hear the ocean.

Rudraksh: Missing your old home?

Preesha: A little.

Rudraksh: Do you regret becoming human?

Preesha: Never.

Preesha: I was just thinking about my life before you.

Rudraksh: The underwater kingdom?

Preesha: Yes. I used to spend my nights swimming beneath the moon.

Rudraksh: And now?

Preesha looked at him deeply.

Preesha: Now I spend them with a very handsome human.

He smiled.

Preesha: You know, I still find some human things strange.

Rudraksh: Such as?

Preesha: These.

She lifted her saree slightly to show her feet.

Preesha: Walking.

Rudraksh laughed.

Preesha: Still I can't walk like normal human beings.Last week I nearly fell down the stairs.

Rudraksh:My mermaid warrior defeated sea monsters but lost a battle against stairs.

Rudraksh and Preesha burst into laughter.

Preesha was laughing too.

Rudraksh and Preesha stood close under a single umbrella as rain drops fell over the place.

Rudraksh: Looks like the rain doesn't want us to go home.

Preesha smiled.

Preesha: Maybe it wants us to spend a little more time together.

A strand of wet hair fell across her face. Rudraksh tucked it behind her ear.

Rudraksh: You look even more beautiful in the rain.

Preesha blushed.

Preesha: And you always know how to make me blush.

A flash of lightning lit up the sky, and a loud clap of thunder followed. Suddenly Preesha moved a little closer to him.

Rudraksh smiled and adjusted the umbrella so that not a single drop of rain fell on her.

Rudraksh: As long as I am with you, I will never let the rain trouble you.

Preesha looked at him with a smile.

Preesha: Then I hope it rains forever.

He smiled.

Preesha:But I don’t mind getting wet as I am used to getting wet in the sea.

Rudraksh:Oh ya…I forgot that you were once a mermaid.

They both laughed.They continued standing beneath the umbrella, lost in each other's eyes while the rain created a beautiful melody around them.

Rudraksh and Preesha were in the garden.He took her hand.

His expression became serious.

Rudraksh: Preesha...thank you for choosing me.

You left behind an entire world for me.

Preesha: Because my heart was already here.

Rudraksh: I never want you to feel like you lost something.

Preesha: I didn't lose my home.I found it here.

Rudraksh smiled softly.

Rudraksh wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer.

Rudraksh: If you had the chance to become a mermaid again...

Preesha: No.I don't want to be a mermaid again.

Rudraksh: You answered my question quickly even before I finished.

Preesha:Because I know the answer already.

She rested her head against his shoulder.

Preesha: I don't want to be a mermaid again,because I want to live with you.I would choose you again and again.

He smiled.They embraced each other.

Above them, the moon shone brightly while far away the ocean waves continued their endless dance, blessing the love story of a mermaid who had become human for the man she loved.

So many loving moments and then he proposed too. Life goes on happily after getting married. Sometimes she misses home but she is happy where she is.
