CHANNI STEPS ON HER FOOT.

I just stared at them blankly.What were they on about? Then,it clicked.Something was being hidden from me.Something Molly And Channi thought I knew but I didn't.And I would find out.

Geet:Yes,its true.

MOLLY AND CHANNI RUN UPTO HER AND HUG HER.

Molly:Don't worry,Geet.Everything will be fine.

Channi:Yes,Geet.Keep faith in God.The hard times will pass.

Ok,now I was really confused.What hard times?

Molly:But geet,this isn't right what youre doing.You have to forget about him,It's the only way.

Channi:Yes now stop this stubbornness and take off the things you cant wear anymore.And go and get changed into some salwar Kameez.Forget about saris now.

W…what did they mean? Maan…was something….no?I opened my mouth to speak but my throat was dry.The words just got stuck inside.

Geet:But why? I love wearing Saris and all married women wear them?

Channi:Exactly.Youre not married anymore.Face the reality Geet.Hes gone.And you cant do anything about it.

Geet:N…No.Why are you lying?

Molly:Geet,stop.he has.Its been a week now.That terrorist took his life and u know it.Accept it,Geet!!! You may find my words harsh but its only for you im saying it.

Geet:NOOOOO!!!!!

My world began crashing around me.Maan dead? No,I wouldn't believe it.Maan couldn't forget all the promises he made to me,Every vow he gave me.He just couldn't.They must be lying.Maan loved me and you don't leave someone you love.We had our future planned out,nice house,2 kids,Mishti and Dusht.How could he forget that? No!!Tears began to run from my eyes and they blinded me.

Geet:Why are you saying this? Do you have any proof?

Channi:Geet,Why…?

Molly:No channi.She wants proof,We have it.

SHE WALKS OVER TO A TABLE AND BRINGS A NEWSPAPER.

Channi:Here.Its got the news in it.

I slowly raised my hand and took it off her.As soon as it touched my hand,the weight of my hand increased.Everything depended on this.I lifted my gaze and began to read it.And what I read knocked the breath out of me.They were right,I was wrong.How? How could this happen? I began shaking uncontrollably.

Channi:Geet…

I lifted a hand to stop her.It shook.As the tears began to run quicker and uncontrollably I decided I wanted to hear no more.I turned and walked out,feeling everyones gaze on me.Each step weighed more than anything I'd done in my life,each step carried me away from my loved ones and towards my destination.I knew where I would go.There was nothing to be thought about really.it was obvious.I would go to the place we always went whenever there was a problem.The place we first met.And there I would decide my next path.How Ironic!!!
