What is Indian cinema coming to? Your thoughts...

😭 So many disasters in one year is mindboggling. The biggest films - Raavan, Guzaarish, Kites, just to name a few came and went within one week after release. Why are we getting so many disasters in the last six months to a year? It seems like when Aamir Khan comes back, he will save Bollywood once again. But, why does Indian cinema have to rely on him to get it out of the gutter? Horrible scripts are to blame. The biggest directors in Indian cinema - Mani Ratnam, Sanjay Bhansali, and Ashtoush Gowariker had all of the three biggest disasters in one year. That is a record-breaking number to say the least. 😕
Come on, have we gone back to square one this year? Do you feel Mani, Sanjay, and Ashtoush can come back with a bang? Only time will tell! But, has Indian cinema gone to the dogs this year or is there still a ray of hope in 2011? Your thoughts...

i dunt think indian cinema went to the dogs this year... absolutely not...we had dabangg, golmaal 3, rajneeti and endhiran/robot which were gr8 box office successes and also some wonderful little films getting the deserved recognition....like udaan, tere bin laden, do dooni chaar, phas gaya obama, love sex aur dhoka, ishqiya, etc...if there were bad films, there were also good films to balance them...so it was a fairly nice year....as for big films biting the dust, well several small films did well, thereby enforcing the fact that ppl are not just interested to see pretty faces onscreen anymore...they need something that can hold their attention for 3 odd hours....so im glad makers are starting to see this point with the failure of their so called "big" films...either they would mend their ways, and if they can't, would stop making films...either way, its good for the audience..

Im happy with this year...

There were some good, bad and the ugly films made 🤣

On a serious note, the bad films were Kites, Action Replayy, Raavan and there were good films I loved My Name Is Khan, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai etc.

I am in a way glad this happened just proves that audience can't be fooled. If they are spending their hard earned money there should be substance in the movie. Aslo it will be a learning lesson for directors and actors that just because they are famous and have a huge fan following the janta will not accept any crap they present.

Indian cinema just keep on giving hits without making good films. What I mean is...films that are a huge hit these days don't even deserve the hit tag because they are horrible films. Recent example is Dabangg. Am using that because that's the one I watched recently and it supposedly the #1 film this year in terms of money made. It had no story, no entertainment. And don't ask me why it was such a huge hit. I guess because of salman. He was really good in the film, but the script was horrible.

Also most Akki films are huge hits for no reason just because he is in it. Most of his comedy films don't deserve to be hits like Housefull, Sing is King, ect...

Also Ranbir-Kat films like Ajab Prem ki ghazab...it was a cute story...but def not hit worthy.

Do remember those craze of Akshay like during Sing is King time. He become such a fan favorite. Every film that was coming out during that time were becoming a hit just because he was in it. He was so lucky...if only his films were good. The only ones that I liked were Welcome and Heyy Baby.
