But here Prats was taken against her will. It is not that she went on her own. As to what works in cities and what does not let us not underestimate the villages. There have been instances when even in rural India, men have accepted the so called 'tainted' women.
Right now Krishna is not crying for Pratigya but crying for his lost illusion ..for months he thought her to be perfect , he used to think of her as an ultimate women, a tigress , a straight forward and honest woman ..he was the devoted and blind priest of Pratigya ..and to realize that his God has feet of clay , to know that his god is flawed ....to know that this girl lied to him ..O dear ..what a shock it must be [Agreed she never said she was a God, but she did harp about sachayi ] ...End of an illusion ....
This is the very idea that I resent. Why is she flawed because she spent a night in captivity of Angad? If she was dishonoured, it was against her will. she has not given her heart away. So he should sympathise with her rather than be worried that she is spoilt goods. Especially since he claims to love her. I did not hear him say anything about how she did not trust him enough to let him into her secret. If this was his indignation, I would have wholeheartedly supported him blasting her for it.
second, he was under te impression that she married him for love ...but know that she married him to avert a scandal ...a second shock
She has repeated told him she does not lvoe him. If he had not got that into his thick skull, what can I say. She has not for a moment led him to believe that she married for love. As to averting the scandal, Prats said it quite clearly why she married him. He raised the issue of purity after hearing her out.
third, he is personally acquainted with Angad and his chamchas ..he knows their thought process and their ways...to expect any one to believe that Angad and his goons acted like the proverbial angels and did not even touch will not lead to automatic belief and trust esp when juxtaposed with the fact that her father agreed to shell out the money and also agreed to see Angad at some lonely hill top rather than lodging an FIR.
My point it what if Angad had raped her. Would he have accepted her if she had come clean with it as soon as she knew he was not the kidnapper? That is the mmot question. His repeated questiing her purity makes me really wonder.
And remember , Pratigya lived with her parents for 20 odd years and yet her parents did not believe her when she said that nothing happened on that fateful day ...witness the fact that her father turns away from viewing the pics..had he been truly trusting he would have snatched the photo from Angad ,had a look and fulminated at him and gone...but Krishna has been living with her for a couple of months..and he knows that there is something she is hiding and that previously too she has hidden many things and she is capable of lyng to him ...when u take these things ..Krishna's mistrust seems rational ...
I dont want tor repeat myself here. What if he really believes that angad had used her. How would that reduce his love for her?
plus, look at the time span..it is all happening within a span of a day ...one cant recover from any emotional turmoil within a day ...Time will heal ...
I can understand the emotional turmoil but the thought uppermost in his mind is that Prats is not pure. Will he accept her believing that of her? I so want to see that rather than have Prats trying her best to prove her chastity.
Oh, Krishna loves Pratigya ...if he did not...he would not have stopped Shakthi , he would not have declared her to be his wife and neither would he have stopped the cruel treatment ....he is listening to her explanation, is reacting to it ...he has not shut her out completely ..Love is there ...and it will emerge once the bitterness wears off...
I dont think that is enough to prove his love. He cannot stand anyone other than him reprimand Prats. Its more like he owns her and hence only he has the rights to do whatever he finds fit. He did hit her with his words.
