Who acc to you is the best and worst film critic in the industry.. and why? And what are your thoughts generally about film critics..are they qualified enough to even be doing this job.. and does this job even require any qualifications.. Are some of the critics downright absurd with the personal attacks and vendettas against actors?? Does anyone in BS ever wanna be a film critic? 😆 Some points to ponder..

The obvious worst/biased/annoying ones are Subhash k jha and whatshisface mr taran adarsh. The subtle ones are rajeev masand. I don't know the rest, but I'd guess that every critic or wannabe critic the paid ones that is have their own favorites who they swear by, like for example ms de loves kareena and would never say anything mean about her just like adarsh worships srk and his cronies and jha kisses the ground the bacchans walk on. Last question, no I don't plan on being a film critic, I'm a researcher so by default I have to be skeptical, no penchant towards the arts. Criticizng bollywood and their actors is fun because I love the martyrdom shown by their obsessive fans....they act as if their world has been shattered if you say anything remotely against their favorite movie or actor. Indians worship their stars and cricketers its ridiculous, which other country does this????? yea i bet no other. 🤣

Haha true that how can I forget the footsie fans in europe and latin america? Skipped my mind because I'm not really into soccer nor do I live there. But I bet even they don't die in stampedes while trying to meet their fav. star/cricketer like people do in india.

Thats my point. People should not be dying in the literal sense to buy movie tickets. Now, I did not even know that was prevalent in Hyderabad, I'd just heard about it in news couple of years ago, but the fact that this happens is disturbing. Why does this happen? Because stars at put at an almost godlike pedestal, unattainable and all knowing. Whose fault is that? Ours. We all contribute to it. I mean look at some examples on this forum itself, you say one word against their favorite and they send you hate pms swearing to slaughter you and your family. They got serious issues man. And then there are the almighty critics in bollywood licking the feet of everyone that matters contributing to the frenzy.

Now that's wrong every one is entitled to have an opinion and one must respect it and if it 's a fact one has quoted wrong then they are entitle to say and inform them...while u r saying that there are also people who hate a star and even if some thing is good they characterize it as dirty,idiotic..for everything there is an extreme and that is human nature or atleast it's common with people who are obsessive about something :P

The only one I like is Baradwaj Rangan. Mostly because he is a fantastic writer. So even if you don't agree with his assessment of the film its still a lot of fun to read them. He's tucked away in Chennai but doesn't do many Tamil film reviews. He doesn't host a TV show so he's not really in the bollywood crowd. Which I think keeps him slightly unbiased. His reviews for bad movies are really hilarious - like side-splitting stuff. He also uses his blog to interact with readers and responds to criticisms, comments and questions which I like.

Yea some fans are nuts.. and some reviewers are even more nutsier.. We all kinda live in a culture where we are taught to go after external.. shimmers and fake beauty rather than internalizing and developing a internal locus of control.. anywayz.. dont lemme bore u guyz with that philosophy.. haha
Back to critics.. some of these idiots.. get so personal.. that they start declaring the box office future of the movies ..and also the stars in the movies.. as if the destiny of movies is in their hands.. I dont think that even 2 year old kids trust Taran aadarsh's reviewes.. he is just a gone case..Ramu.. is a bad filmaker.. but I liked it once.. when he reviewed the reviewes of his movie.. and replied to each critic's crap individually.. that was a pretty kewl thing on his part! I personally dont have any favs in reviewers.. they all just seem the same to me..
