Your personal definition of Being a Fan on IF

I agree with you.

To ME personally, being a "fan", though I would like to call myself a well-wisher, is someone who would support her/his favorite but at the same time, can see the flaws of her/his favorite. He/she would defend her favorite when needed but when someone else bashes the favorite, he/she would first see WHY and if it is justified, doesn't get heat up. Actually if it isn't justified, you still don't get up. They would post their opinion as nicely as possible and than leave it.

I am a HUGE fan of Sonam Kapoor. I adore her to bits and pieces but I would be the first one to put her down if she does something wrong and I have done it many times in the past. I have no problem making fun of her and laughing at her. If someone else bashes her, I always see why. If it's justified than cool. If not, I'll try to post my view and try to leave it. It's an all together different story if some people here would post things to provoke the fans, than I'll play along too but what others think of my favorite, doesn't bother me one bit because I always know the truth (good or bad). I do have friends who are not Sonam fans or even those who can't stand her and to me, you don't have to be a Sonam fan for me to be your friend. That's just silly.

😆😆I agree with you Sona --- I consider myself being a well wisher rather than a fan and I tend to think that I can be a well wisher for most of people even for people who've been cruel to me. Because that's my personality I don't hold grudge against people for very long because it makes you a bad person at the end. And I don't like the idea of being a bad person.

A fan doesn't have to hate other fans.

A fan doesn't have to form a group with others.

A fan doesn't have to bring up "other fans" in a discussion post.

A fan needs to stop comparing their favourite actor/actress with other actors/actress.

Bingo, dude! You hit the nail right on the head. People do tend to form groups and keep that in mind while posting their opinions. Very few actually post what they feel and I can tell because I've been a a silent reader on here for the longest time, I've witnessed people change equations with one another after a point through formation of groups pertaining to their favs. I'd also like to add, fans in the real world are completely different from fans in the online world. In real world, they are independent thinkers to a very large extent, they might act as crazy stalkers, collect irrelevant shiz, but it is by their own free will, they are not being brainwashed by other crazies. They also don't have real life groupies who will come to their rescue if some anti-fangirl criticizes their favorite "actor-god".Fans online are subconsciously brainwashed by other fans online. They don't even know when and what hits them. Its like subliminal advertising used by corporations back in the old days. Plus, don't even get me started on the groupies, one member has an argument with the opponent and all her groupies flock to her rescue. Can't you defend your favorite on your own? Why need the help of your groupies?

I think I'm a lame fan cause I'm lazy, I'm not as involved as other people so I don't think I'm a real fan I have a few faves but generally I like actors so I'm not a die hard fan.

I'm like you too. In my country, they say He who likes you well is the one who can punish you as well meaning when you love someone you have to be the first that criticizes him/her when you notice he/she has the wrong attitude...And you have to "punish" her/him, it's not because you like your faves that you have to justify anything ---- As for me I criticize a lot stars I like, the ones I don't care I don't even bother but If I post something I try to be polite. I like being sacarastic and I like mocking at stars in general : at my faves and others too and some people don't get the sense of humour - but it's fine no need to get all worked up. there are battles more meaningful than defending a star against all odds : like HIV, women hit by men, child prostitution, orphan diseases (which mean a lot for me), modern slavery, democracy, political matters, World Food issues.

Yes that's not smart to not have friends who aren't fans of your faves --- you're closed yourself to people who only one side of their faves and avoid facing criticism which is healthy.

I have noticed that some people tend to use IF as a dangerous tool....But I hope it won't turn that way...I truly do.....I don't like the paranoia and the suspicion either.

I don't really like Bebo but I do get along with all her fans and I chat a lot about her without bashing.

btw I like Sonam too cause she's an unusual star...😳

Yes I am all about karma....I can be bitchy at times but I try to be good cause I believe in karma and I think whatever you do, it would come back to you. If you think bad about others, something bad would happen to you but I am a girl so I am naturally bitchy and I do say crap about people but I try to stop myself before I go too crazy.

I like Sonam too only because she's the biggest crackhead I know....I love crackheads! 😛
