A shocking theft case has emerged involving the family of veteran actor Raveena Tandon, with valuables worth nearly Rs 25 lakh reportedly disappearing from their Mumbai home. The incident has led to the arrest of a woman who was considered a trusted presence in the household and had been looking after the actor's elderly mother for several years.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Rashi Chhabaria from Khar, had built a close association with the Tandon family over time. Since 2020, she had reportedly been visiting the family's residence on a regular basis to assist and care for Raveena's mother, Veena Tandon, who is 86 years old. Owing to this long standing relationship, she had access to the home and was familiar with the family's daily routine.

The matter came to light when members of the family discovered that jewellery and other valuables kept in a locker were missing. The discovery was reportedly made in October 2025 when the family was preparing for Dussehra celebrations and decided to check the jewellery that had been stored away. During this process, they allegedly found signs that the locker had been tampered with.

The missing items reportedly include a substantial collection of precious jewellery belonging to Veena Tandon. Among the valuables said to have been stolen are gold bangles, necklaces, bracelets, rings, lockets, earrings, and several diamond ornaments. A diamond studded mangalsutra is also believed to be among the missing items. In addition to the jewellery, two luxury watches belonging to film producer Rajiv Tandon, Raveena's brother, were reportedly taken as well.

Investigators believe the theft may have been carried out over a period of time rather than in a single instance. Given the accused's regular access to the residence, authorities are examining the circumstances under which the valuables disappeared and whether any additional individuals may have been involved.

Reports suggest that when family members initially questioned the woman regarding the missing items, she denied any involvement in the matter. However, after the issue was formally brought to the attention of the police, an investigation was launched and the accused was subsequently taken into custody.

The complaint filed in the case reportedly contains another serious allegation. Rajiv Tandon is said to have informed authorities that after suspicions were raised, the accused allegedly attempted to intimidate him through an associate who was described as a police informer. It has been alleged that threats were made suggesting that Rajiv could be falsely implicated in a narcotics related case if efforts to recover the valuables continued.

The allegations have added another layer of complexity to an already high profile investigation. Police officials are currently examining all aspects of the case, including the circumstances surrounding the alleged threats. Their primary focus remains tracing the missing jewellery and watches and determining whether the valuables have been sold, transferred, or hidden elsewhere.
