Hi people,
Please note that the following post has nothing to do with my adoration and soft corner for Sameer. The post is a completely objective view of Sameer - Avni and their complicated relationship. ..ok, serious.
Of all the three couples, Sameer-Avni interest and intrigue me the most. Of course , I like the Pri-Dam bond that is so chemical and Mills n Boonish that it just sends your heaters and microwaves to shame. 😉.....a gorgeous couple at logger-heads and exploring a sensitive fondness springing from stubborn strong personalities... and then Rosh -Varun, they symbolize the water spray of fresh love - the innocence , the naivete , the candles , the violins ...the works.😳...but i guess i have a special corner for Sam and Avi.... here's why....
Sameer - the ideal heart-throb - good-looking , supercool, supersmooth , an absolute charmer who could find his way out from Bermuda Triangle as well. He is not your perfect Mr. Sunshine. He is practical and sort of traverses the seemingly harmless borders of the good and the bad. His morals and ethics are flexible but at the same time, his heart is all marshmallows and candyfloss that beats for the ones he loves. He combines devil and saint into one. He is not a mountain like Prithvi , and he is not a softie goody-goody like that cutie Varun... he oscillates between the good , the bad and manages to refrain from the ugly......
And then , you have Avni - the meek, mild and timid princess in high tower who is a swan but believes herself to be the ugly duckling due to her lack of confidence and self-belief. She is a rare species of women. An epitome of feminity amd humanity who is sensitive enough to be bruised by even a flower. She is a wax doll who harbours dreams of a knight in shining armour ... a hopeless romantic who colours everything pink and purple but does not allow herself to believe in those dreams. She doesn't have the beauty and strength of Damini.... she doesn't have the carefree attractive charm of Rosh. But what draws people to her is her maternal comfort - her caring nature - her unbelievable soft feminity.
And then , the two met.... the lion who never heard a NO in his life from a woman.... and the lamb who never heard a YES from a man. It had to be combustibe, right? It is just that it did not explode - it caught fire - fiber by fiber. 😳
For Sameer, before the revenge saga came in , Avni was a fascinating puzzle - a woman who was charmed by him but not ensnared enough to fall into his arms . He had never seen or met anybody like her. For him , such girls were purely material for fiction - she amused him , she intrigued him , she tugged at both his ego and his heart. For a change , Sameer's mind thought more than flirting and courting. Her vulnerability , her fears , her anxities made the man behind the charmer reach out and protect her- take her in his arms on purely platonic basis and assure her that it is okay - she is a rockstar as she is. She does not need to change anything. Sameer's unconscious soft corner for Avni showed in the way he stood up for her at the pub - the way it pained him to no end to see her sob in front of the mirror and curse herself for not being good enough for Sameer. I don't say that Sam fell in love with Avi , but he had turned into her guardian angel - he felt a pull towards her - something he could not understand and explain to himself. He is a swashbuckling charmer , right? A lady killer? Why should he care about a girl next door? But the adorable cad did........Avi found a way into his psyche first...and later his heart.....
As for Avni , well, as Sam himself rightfully said... he was the storm waiting to happen in Avni's life. He was everything that our Arabic Princess dreamt of but feared having for real. He unsettled everything in her prim-proper-plain life. Friends? Ha, ha. And I am the Empress of China. Avi n Sam were never friends - they can never be friends - the connection was instant. Avni could never really fight Sam's advances - they were charming , man-to-woman and persistent. Avni was resistant , alright but the resistance was like poorer than room temperature and brick-by-brick , Sameer found his way to Avni's heart ... so much so , that the girl felt enough to cry for him in solitude. Sameer has managed to make her cry because he has touched her heart , soul amd spirit. Unconsciously, Avi has lost her heart to Sameer... but , but , but the fear monster inside her - the feeling of inferiority and wobbly trust that is ingrained in her since childhood strongly holds her back from telling Sameer that friends , my foot. I love you.
Perhaps that is why I term this complicated relationship with multiple layers to both personalities as the love story of a lion and a lamb....
As Sameer was on the verge of telling Avni the truth and maybe realize his feelings for her... tragedy struck , re-directing the flow of all three love stories. All the new emotions , the ideal lover side , the vulnerability and sensitivity of Sameer went for a toss ...... overnight , Avni didn't stay the Avni he wanted to love and protect ... she turned into the daughter of the enemy.....a possible pawn to take revenge on Ila...
Sameer only remembered himself as the son of a wronged man and all the embryo emotions were stunted. So, the lion turns furious again.......a predator waiting to pounce on the lamb.
Sameer appears quite a villain now , doesn't he? It kills to see him playing so ruthlessly with Avni's heart - seeing that he has his mind set on making sure that Avni falls so hard for him that she loves Sameer and Sameer only until the day she dies....sure, we want that but not this way. What we don't see is that Sameer only remembers the pain , humiliation , suffering and tragic death that his father went through - he has shut out the innocent pull that he had towards Avni. It is all about revenge , ego and planning now. Earlier, the evolution of the relationship between Sam n Avi was natural - and now , it is planned. Sameer wants Avni and that is the start and end of it.
Sameer who is putting Avni through so much of emotional turmoil , has suffered equal pain with his mother and brothers. We don't know who did what .....but as of now , they all are victims of circumstances and each one is acting true to their nature and with the falliability of being a mortal.
Sameer is a complex layered man and Avni a complicated lost girl - they both have one thing in common - they are very stubborn. If Avni is hell bent on holding back her feelings, Sam will move mountains to make her admit them and run into his arms....
The question is ... what after that? 😕
