Perhaps Hema was nervous yesterday. The format of the show is quite unfair to the bottom two/three.

But the point being Hema was not in the bottom two or three, he got the highest votes yesterday, knowing that to make him perform under so much tension is autrocious.

The staccatos are a part of the written music and not Manna Dey's style. I am glad he made an attempt at them at least. Playing staccatos is hard enough for a fast song, but singing them is even harder, IMHO.
