The television industry often teaches actors lessons that go far beyond performing in front of the camera. For actor Tina Parekh, one such lesson came unexpectedly during the early phase of her career and stayed with her long after the shoot wrapped up.
In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Tina reflected on an incident that occurred while she was working on the television show Dollar Bahu. What began as an exciting opportunity to work alongside a celebrated screen personality quickly turned into an experience she describes as one of the most upsetting moments of her professional journey.
At the time, Tina was still finding her footing in the industry and was thrilled about sharing scenes with veteran actor Ranjeet. Having grown up watching his work, she saw the opportunity as a memorable milestone. However, the reality turned out to be very different from what she had imagined.
Speaking about the incident, Tina said, “I had one of my worst experiences with an actor in Dollar Bahu. And that was Ranjeet, the senior actor. When you were not shooting, you used to sit and watch. Seeing him, I was nervous because he was such a big star. I had seen him since childhood. I was excited because I had two scenes with him.”
The actor then recalled a brief exchange that left a deep emotional impact on her.
“I remember he said, ‘Isko ye, time waste mat karo mera. Kaha Kaha se Aajate hai, jao, isko bolo line learn kar ke aaegi.”

For Tina, the words were difficult to process. She admitted that she felt shocked by the treatment she received from someone she had admired for years. The incident, she said, left her feeling humiliated and discouraged at a time when she was still trying to establish herself.
Looking back now, however, Tina views the episode through a different lens. Rather than allowing it to leave her bitter, she chose to turn it into a personal lesson.
“Sometimes something bad happens for a good reason. It taught me that if I ever become a star, make me a humble and good one. It taught me never to be that person,” she added.
The actor later shared a clip from the interview on Instagram, where she explained that every experience, pleasant or painful, contributes to personal growth. Her caption read, “Every instance in life teaches you a lesson and helps you grow. I’m grateful for the learning, and in general, I don’t hold anything against anybody, ever.”

Many social media users appreciated her mature outlook, with several praising her for focusing on the lesson rather than holding on to resentment. Tina has been a familiar face on Indian television through popular shows including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Khichdi, and her latest revelation has once again sparked conversations about kindness and humility within the entertainment industry.
