OMG SHAHID LOOKS SO FIERCE!😳

Amole Gupte is not a novice to acting. He was last seen nearly two decades ago in minuscule roles in films like Holi and Gurudakshina. However, 22 years later, when he was once again approached to face the camera for Kaminey, Amole thought that somebody was playing a prank on him.

Recalling the moment Amole said, ?I thought it was a crank call. A man named Honey introduced himself as Vishal Bhardwaj?s casting director and offered me an important role, in the same space as Langda Tyagi in Omkara. I banged the phone down not believing a word of what he said.?

How Amole was persuaded to do Kaminey is a story in itself. Apparently, Honey showed up at Amole?s office. ?He had my resume from 1981 when I did my first diploma film as an actor. Honey was aware of all my 108 roles in student films, and he knew about Ketan Mehta?s Holi and Dayal Nihalani?s Gurudakshina. They convinced me I was an actor. Finally, I had to meet Vishal. My wife Deepa and I knew Vishal and his wife Rekha ever since I was the dubbing director for Kamal Haasan?s Chachi 420. I love Vishal?s films.?

Amole Gupte plays a Maharashtrian mafioso in Kaminey. ?I had a ball of a time. I could?ve made a career in acting years ago, but I was wedded to the camera and the lens not as an actor, but on a much broader level. For ten years, I shifted to painting.?

Commenting on his acting experience, he said, ?From the moment the promos started, I?ve been flooded with calls about the film and my look in it. Acting is an ongoing process. All day long we?re acting in one way or another. So I was never away from it. In Taare Zameen Par I lived every character from Little Ishaan (Darsheel) to the English and Hindi teachers Mr Sen and Mr Tiwari respectively.?

The ?creative director? of Taare Zameen Par is now ready to direct another film Sapno Ko Ginte Ginte. Like the much-acclaimed Taare?, Sapno... is also about the life and psychology of children. Amole said, ?It took me so long to start another film after Taare Zameen Par because I needed to tighten my script.?

However, Amole is not really interested in casting a star in the film. ?The kids are the star of Sapno Ko Ginte Ginte. But I need a big brand name to make the audience watch my film. However, the star shouldn?t feel he is doing the film and the children a favour by being part of it.?

After Kaminey, is he ready to take on more acting assignments? ?If it helps me to fund my film projects, but it also has to touch me in some way. Otherwise, I?d have become a permanent actor after Holi 22 years ago.?

I love when people try to be different in thier roles. Shahid has done that. HE is not working in an NRI chocolate cotton candy movie.....

PS: .I guess every one loves bad boys.....there is osmething to them that makes them so dear to girls. Maybe the feeling that "I can tame him..He will change for me" kinda hope.

I hope so too, Lovanika!! Vishal deserves it! His movies are AWESOME, but unfortunately none of them have been superhits. Whatever he is today, is cuz of his merits.
