It was not a publicity stunt for Chandni Chowk to China, said Akshay Kumar of his refusal to accept the Nokia Popular Viewers' Choice award at the Star Screen awards on Wednesday night, just two days before the film's release.

Akki had said on stage that he felt Aamir Khan deserved this award more for Ghajini and he left the stage without collecting the trophy.

"I will not take something I don't deserve," said Akshay, who visited Hindustan Times house along with CC2C co-star Deepika Padukone on Thursday afternoon, making the entire Connaught Place try to gatecrash the building. "I spoke openly about it, but it has nothing to do with the promotion of my film. I said what I felt was right."

About the massive budget and publicity spend of CC2C, he predicted, "The day is not far when we would be making films with a budget of 20 million [dollars]."

During their visit to the Hindustan Times house, Deepika mentioned that she was just six when she first saw Akshay in Main Khiladi Tu Anari. Akshay joked, "The other day, I was telling Karisma, who was my first heroine, that I want to play hero opposite her daughter Samaira."

Akshay can have a daughter who is deepika's age but still he's pairing with her and they look good as a couple.

True. But the important thing is he can, not that he does. Also, I don't see anything wrong if he did have a daughter Deepika's age and yet acted opposite Deepika. AB and Tabu looked fine in Cheeni Kum despite the humungous age gap.

Besides Deepika is 22, an adult. Ofcourse they can pair opposite each other.

My main bone of contention is with the fact that Karishma's daughter is only how old.... 5?6? And for him to say this NOW is in bad taste. I'm sure he did not mean it in a disgusting way. But sometimes, you just gotta shutup.
